Kinda cuffy for the chap who runs Harveys the cobbler/engraver on the high street. Its the 2nd time I've used the place in a couple of years, this time to get a trophy engraved. I just wish he would smile !!!

Still he turned around the job in 24 hours so all good.

Harveys is a great shop run by a very decent bloke.

I would take genuine quality service over a fixed grin any day.

Every one has good and bad days.

I guess the only people smiling are the ones still in their jim jams working from home and not having to deal with the great and good of Stafford day in day out.

I managed a smile for our wedding photograph 31½ years ago.

Big Cuffy to Royal Mail who left me a missed delivery card on Saturday but didn't bother filling in the numbers so that I could track it and rearrange the delivery.

Then when I went to collect it from Newport Road today this notice greeted me.

What use are those opening times to anybody especially people who work?

Ended up trying to find the postie on the estate and luckily he did have my parcel on the van.

They've changed the times slightly from when I went last. There was no Thursday afternoon pick up. As you say. useless if anyone works, and totally shite if you're on nights! x

That's with it all being about the shareholders not the customers now.

I am in ST16 area and that's not how I would rate their service this time.

If they'd filled in the delivery details on the card I could have managed the delivery but chasing a postie around the estate on the off chance that he may have my delivery or if the collection place was actually open when most people would need it I wouldn't have dished out a big cuffy.

Shite service in my opinion.

Someone gave me a card and chocolates to thank me for being awesome.

Which was fair enough.

Then looking back, i realised it was for me being awesome in March.

March.

I mean, that's forever ago - who remembers that far back?

Highfields Fish Bar has just lost a regular customer.

I don't mind people being miserable: hell I spend most of my day feeling that way, but if I was working in a service industry again (I did so for 15 years) I would try my utmost not to ignore customers, shout greetings to others whilst getting an order ready, stopping during said order prep to chat and then basically throwing the order at a customer.

Thus, if the women is serving: not the owner, she seems fine, I won't go in again.

Food: 6/10, service and general rudeness (and its not only once has she been this way), 0/10.

Sometimes I can't remember what I did 5 minutes ago, but I can remember my first day of Primary School. Almost 55 years ago.........

I called into the chippy in Eccleshall a while ago. Girl behind the counter had quite the attitude on her, would've hurt for her to smile. Apart from taking mr order, she didn't utter a word.
She had on false nails, which were covered in chipped varnish. A massive no no in any food establishment. Hair was all over the place and she had rings with stones in, yet another no no when working with food. The other assistant, had her hair loose, it was dyed purple, so if I found one of her hairs in with me chips, I'd know who to blame.
My much older sister runs one of the Eccleshall pages on Facebook. She posted my complaint anonymously, but it caused such a cat fight, she had to take it down. I had considered going back in, just or a bag of chips, see if anything has changed. If not, then i'll be contacting Enviromental Health.
My sister reckons the owner takes on any scragbags as long as theyre prepared work long hours and be paid peanuts.

I called into the chippy in Eccleshall late lunchtime this autumn and was very pleased with it, especially with the owner giving me some chips to accompany my kebab.

Each to their own. Perhaps he pulled his finger out after I made the complaint. I won't hesitate tho to go to the council if I find the same situation again.

I only commented on my experience there which didn't include failings of his assistants.
As for "the owner takes on any scragbags as long as theyre prepared work long hours and be paid peanuts" that's what's been happening since Brexit caused such a shortage of staff in low paid sectors. I miss the Sandon Road chippy.

It's definitely gone downhill the last couple of years.
