Day out tomorrow

Fancy a day out somewhere tomorrow - has anyone ever been for a wander around Shrewsbury or Market Drayton? Anything to do in either of them?

Not looking to spend loads but maybe a wander around, spot of lunch, more wandering around.

Alternatively any events on in or around Stafford tomorrow?

There's a steam rally at Newport this weekend, that looks far more interesting than it sounds.

The museum at Shrewsbury is free (located at the tourist information place) worth a potter if you're into that sort of thing, and the whole town is potter-able, there's a castle too (I think, it was closed when we got there late after spending too long in the museum).

Last time we went there was also an independent music shop that had closed down and left a large & funny message in the window blaming the local parking laws for putting off customers....it appeared in the news a few days after I saw it :)

Thanks for the suggestions folks, ended up in Shrewsbury and loved it. A nice mix of the usual chain shops (although not so many of them) and independent places and a sprinkling of pubs and restaurants. Loved that it wasn't all on one main street, rather loads of streets off other streets, little alleyways leading to 'hidden' shops etc. Will definitely visit again in future.

Did you find Tanners ?

I don't recall the name but that applies for lots of shops whether I went in or not. What do they do?

I did however find a shop by the name of "Busted" - not a shop paying homage to the 90's boyband that went to the year 3000...... rather a shop where real life young females stand in the window modelling the lingerie of the day..... its more retro stuff than your standard Ann Summers fayre but regardless if forum members want a good old perv then its the place to go :fap:

Just to add, the bloke wasn't there when I went past and it certainly isn't me filling my boots...

Really good wine merchants worth a nose round even if you're not purchasing.
