Additionally, would anyone on here be interested in purchasing? The notebook is in Brand New Condition, no marks or scratches that I can see on first inspection. I'd be surprised if it has been switched on for more than 24 hours.

Hi.

The big let down is that it only has an 8GB SSD rather than a regular 2.5" SATA hard drive, and it can not be replaced with a SATA either. These particular SSD's aren't the quick kind either - they're terrible performance.
Acer also made the same mistake with some of the earlier Aspire One netbooks.
8GB is also far too little unless someone wants it purely as a web browser.

I'm not sure what you paid for it and chances are that it was over the odds. Sale value wise, you are probably thinking around the £100 - £120 mark... which if you are lucky you might get if you find a knowledgeless buyer. In realistic terms and to anyone who knows too much about them, you might be talking more around the £60 - £80 mark.

You'd probably get the best price on eBay (especially with Christmas around the corner, and lots of people wanting netbooks for younger kids etc.)

Also, a quick google has revealed you can now pick up the Mini 10 (10" screen and a proper 160GB hard drive) brand new for just £178. Then a quick look on eBay shows me a 16GB version of yours being sold for £100 buy-it-now.
Based on that I would say £100 at the most, but maybe as little as 50 or 60 quid.

I will be honest, ive got a Dell mini, i had it free with vodafone with a contact internet connection.

Its a great little mini laptop, perfect if im away, but its really slow on anything major. if you want general stuff its a great little mini.

Got rid of the vodafone internet because that was beyond cr#p and used to use the local wireless of where i was at the time with it.

I agree with WMR with his costings - Personally stick it on Ebay.

Thanks for advice.

I'd forgotten that you can get them with a contract, I bought directly from Dell. I definitely didn't overpay at the time though so shouldn't take too much of a hit on the price. I'd be unwilling to sell for as low as £50-60 but perhaps £80-£100 in my pocket and I'd be pleased enough.

I came to do a re-install through the Dell Partition as per usual, but I have no F11 Key! Bugger. And no CD Drive either. This could be tricky, any easy way of doing this? I guess I'm going to have to try and find the box, software etc?

Due to the tiny 8GB SSD they didn't include a recovery partition on them I'm affraid. It should have come with a disc to re-install it instead. If you find that disc but have no external optical drive, then copy the contents of the CD to a memory pen using another computer, and it should boot from that.

Failing that, if you can't find the recovery CD either I'll gladly sort it for a tenner if you can get it to me up Coton Fields (cheaper than my usual charge as I know you're only doing it to get shut of it)

Thankfully managed to find the original box and installation CDs - I knew there was a reason to keep everything in the loft!

Will try and sell elsewhere and/or eBay.

However...struggling with nvrd32.sys error whilst trying to re-install. Google answers don't appear to be working! Help?!

It appears to be common thing on all Dell Minis. The solution is listed here in a post by Speedstep:

If your happy for me to drop it round for £10, it's yours. :P

First time I've had to time to post all week, but a public thank you for wmrcomputers.

He managed to reinstall XP (I think, I never saw the netbook again!) and find a customer to purchase it too.

Thanks very much for your help =)

Most welcome. It was quite freaky having a customer asking about netbooks for sale only an hour after you dropped it off! Still, it was a purchase for them, a sale for you and a job for me. You couldn't have timed it better!
