    Harvey's it was called. Great place with very helpful staff. Saved my DIY bacon many a time.

    Bricknell's is like that. The Sidney Ave one, not really.

    Binns sweet shop yer remember it well the hair dresser's belong to Norman Crocket in my day had my first proper hair cut there lol
    They all seemed to move up to Burton Manor at about the same time

    Sidney Avenue shop reminds me of a smaller version of Handyman House that used to be next to Kwik Save.

    I remember the name Norman Crockett now but not at that hairdresser's ... It was Pat Oldacre's place and I always thought she looked like Peculiar Clarke of Downtown fame. Wasn't Norman Crockett a Councillor?

    Thinking about it, I think I remember Crockett's barbers was at Burton Manor in my day.

    They moved up to Burton Manor from there and opened the ladies at the end of the row facing the now Doctors place the gents was right in the middle by the chip shop, and yes he was a Councillor

    There was also Kinsons' shop at Rising brook which is April Flowers now, or was. I think Mr. Kinson was a councillor as well. I can see him and his wife now ... miserable buggers they were.

    There was also Celecta. So long ago!

    Agree old Kinson was a misery guts Celecta's now that is going back, both got me thinking do you rememer Harrison's Garage now the Esso Old Reg Harrison was a nice gizzer. One thing always stuck in my mind was the Chip Van every friday night parked at the bottom of Perrin Close never tasted chips like those since

    Oh yes I remember the chip van in Perrin Close. God it was such a treat in those innocent days. We really had nothing particularly in a material sense but didn't care in those days because it did not matter because we were all the same
