There's a small sewing and alterations business, one woman, just off the Marston Road on Wogan Street. Might be able to do what you want for a few quid. She's open... well, I don't know. I'll go and take a look, be right back. Here's her sign and details:

Sue at "Darts and Crafts" next door to Phoenix Music has said she
can do that for you, she has a sewing machine in the shop and is
in the shop every day except thursday from 10am.

Thanks @Ecker but I've just received a very friendly a quick quote of just £5 from Zofia that @citricsquid pointed out to me. If I'd have known about Sue first I would have taken it there, but I now feel happy to go to the one that has quoted me already.

Just to update this, Zofia did a brilliant job at a brilliant price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing some kind of alteration done.

There is a place in Penkridge close to Lloyds bank, they do alterations and other stuff. Wife has used them a few times.
