There is Merry Maids, located on Friars Terrace? Also seen someone in a tshirt that said 'Devils with Dusters' the other day, guess they are cleaners. Not sure on the gardening side, although I may know someone come to think of it.

For gardening I use LT Landscapes, a husband & wife team based in Eccleshall. They do my back garden twice a month during the summer, mow & edge lawns and general tidy up, weeding etc. Twice a year topping hedges all cuttings taken away, very reasonable rates. They have also taken items to the tip for me on their trailer cheaply. 01785 850159 or 07798 897322.
Unfortunately I've never been able to entice a cleaner into my lair so can't help with that one.

funnily enough, i was just thinking the other day how much i hate mowing the lawn (sorry for bringing the neighbourhood down, gk141054 :teef:) and was wondering how much someone would charge to come and do it for me.. sounds like a stupid, tiny job to get someone in for, but then i realised that someone will come to your house and wash your car for about a fiver, or clean your windows, etc. so surely someone will mow the lawn for a similarly small fee?

anyone know?

how is this illegal? i pay the window cleaner in cash, as well as the chap who washes the car (see link in my previous post).. are they operating outside of the law?

regardless, as with most things, i'm not fussed about the legality of it - i'm just interested to know if anyone knows of a "cut yer lawn" service, and if so how much it costs?

OK, pre 9/11 a lot of activities deemed illegal had the proverbial blind eye turned to them, now any 'undeclared' income will receive attention from certain government agencies, security, tax office, benefits agency are the usual ones. Whilst scouts fundraising etc doesn't warrant investigating. the guy who turns ups does a good or bad job and disappears is operating under the radar and i'm sure the reactionary 'shoes' will agree could be deemed public enemy. Possibly defrauding the benefit system, not paying his whack to the exchequeor, but more importantly to the security services, where is that money ending up? Now it would be easy to say 'it's just a bit of cash for a bloke down the road' unfortunately each case cannot be looked at in that way. So if it's against the law then it's against the law, currently the odd job cash in hand man gets the brunt, yet increasingly whoever pays these people are also falling foul of current legislation.................

The Dust Demons site has pics of some cute operatives, i'd be happy to have them polishing my domestics........

I'll come mow your lawn for £10 on a regular basis. Just needing some extra cash for the holidays and moving expenses next year.

thanks for the offer :)

tbh i was just curious as to whether such a service existed.. although i am lazy, i don't actually mind mowing the lawn if the weather's nice.. which is why my lawns are currently in a right old state, and will likely stay that way until next spring lol..
