I've used Downings lots of times and not had a problem.

We've used them on a couple of occasions when we were doing some house & garden renovations. They were cost effective and their service was excellent

I got Downings to collect one of those Hippo skip bag efforts. They were cheaper than booking Hippo and it got collected when they said, no probs at all.

We've used them a couple of times, and the same as everyone else we have phoned when the skip is full and they've been over within a couple of hours to collect it - all round good service

Speak as you find. We had a skip from them over the Easter bank hols and had great service.

I've used them three times in total, the last time being a couple of weeks ago. Rang them at 5pm to let them know they could collect the skip and it had gone by 9am the next day. Prices have always been competitive and service has always been fine.

What a ridiculous post. Use Downings all the time, fine company.

I use Downings at The Moat House; Swan; Dog and Doublet and Bear superb service and always meet our expectations, furthermore they help us with our quest to sent 0% of our waste to landfill.

Who ever you are Mr or Mrs Truthseeker we apologise and hope you will come back and use us one day in the future.

As a business grows, it's not always possible to maintain a clean sheet although our staff do all in their power to try. Out of over a thousand customers, one or two mistakes is not bad going and I can commend the staff on that.

May I thank all you people for your kind comments I will pass them on to the team who will really appreciate it.

We have enjoyed 40 odd great years doing what we do, and endeavour to keep ploughing on and providing first class recycling and waste services to the great people of Stafford who have always supported us through good times and bad. 2014 is going to be another tough year for everyone but we maintain as long as we all stick together locally our little economy in Stafford will thrive.

I do suspect a Troll here, normally I wont feed them but felt a thank you to the kind responses were in order. And as they say, any publicity is good publicity!

Downings are a great local company and one which I can thoroughly recommend. I use them regularly for both their commercial waste collection and for skip hire when required. It is nice to be able to visit them or phone up if required and deal with a person who can sort out any issues or requirements that I may have. Their local knowledge, having been is Stafford for so long sets them apart from the national waste companies which sometimes approach us.

This seems to me to be a simple case of using the wrong service option.

The option Truthseeker should have used was the Downings Psychic Skip service. When it's full, they just "instinctively" know you want it collecting...............lol

From your records I would say that -
1. You will have an idea who this is, at it seems that the company don't mess people around as a rule, or
2. It is somebody causing mischief, like somebody from a competitor or just some spiteful scrote!

PS I know your Dad through SRFC and if you are anything like him the business will be doing fine.

nothing is any problem for these guys, i had a skip a few months ago, needed to put a few heavy items in but was not allowed to lift heavy stuff following an eye operation. They did the lifting for me., top class service

I have used Downings for years and I have found them to be friendly and given an excellent service. If you call them they always go out of their way to help. I would strongly recommend you use them again and then maybe repost with hopefully a positive experience.
