Did anybody just feel an earthquake ? my desk just moved as though it had been pushed ?
Swansea area I believe.Did anybody just feel an earthquake ? my desk just moved as though it had been pushed ?
This - https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us2000d3uw#executive - is saying a 4.2 at 14:31:04.Swansea area I believe.
It is big for here - UK site said nothing had happened when I looked at it. The US site has a "reports map", but the link doesn't work to get back to it - the furthest report was Chester, so we are right on the edge of people noticing it, by the look of things.Yes, about 1:30 was when it came through here.A 4 pointer is quite big for UK. I tried to check the UK geological survey site but it was not responding.

Very slight 'tsunami' in Newquay?
As long as it doesn't reach Hinkley Point....Newquay surfers would be happy.
Are some of the smaller ones in the cluster around Merthyr mining-related, perhaps?

This is the biggest event in the area since the 5.2 magnitude earthquake in 1906.

I'm not aware of any fracking in Wales. There is a moratorium there, as there is everywhere else in the British Isles, except England.I think old mine working collapses have been credited with causing quakes in the past, what about fracking ? Are there fracking sites in the area ?

Oh I dunno, at least the water wouldn't be cold.As long as it doesn't reach Hinkley Point....
