Memories indeed. I remember when we used to go in Props we used to know pretty much everyone in there. It was almost like some big, dirty, loud, horrible local. Now it's just full of Chinese people I've never seen before, and if you try throwing up in the beer garden it messes up the carpets and they call the police.
the gone2seed reference to carl chinn got me thinking about occasions i have found myself in the company of celebrities. now, i'm sure you're all going to think what i'm about to list is a load of bollocks but i swear on miss t's child it's all gospel and a lot can be backed up with photographic evidence. i'm not saying this to brag but to point out that high profile figures are just normal people and live amongst us.
first celebrity encounter: brian clough when he visited stafford rangers in the 80s.
geoff capes at butlins: great photo of me and benny upsetter.
pinewood studios during filming of interview with a vampire met that scientologist midget. also shook hands with brad pitt and his stunt double who was practicing falling down stairs.
also at pinewood met john cleese and jamie lee curtis filming a sequel to a fish called wonder (they'd built a big zoo there). also saw luc besson in the canteen.
in covent garden a mate from uni introduced me to graham la saux. other footballers i've met include nobby stiles, jack charlton and geoff hurst. played football match with emyln hughes.

in new york i bumped into dan ackroyd who was a legend. i told him i'd spent two days looking for the fire station where they filmed ghostbusters and he informed me it had since been knocked down.
i've met a fair few of the star wars cast but this wasn't exactly an unexpected encounter cause i went to star wars conventions.
all eight pot smoking members of UB40. had a pint with noddy holder. at a BBC function i told nick owen my mum wanted to shag him. seriously, my mum told me the three men she fantasised about were steve mcqueen, clint eastwood and nick owen. nick owen? what's that all about. he seemed really keen on the idea though.
i went to a nightclub launch during westlife's infancy and as me and a few mates got out a cab and walked along the red carpet hords of spotty teenagers were screaming at us, or so we thought. as it turns out the irish numpties were ten yards behind us.
met gary 'my name's gary newbon' newbon at a wedding.

again i'm not trying to show off, just highlight societies obsession with celebrity and how many off them there are. perhaps poetsbumcheeks will write a poem about the rich and famous? apart from stalking the stars wars cast all the others are people i've met by accident or through work and the only one i'm really glad to have met is dan ackroyd.

Believe Tenshon! I know how your job presents you with such celebrity encounters. Quite an impressive list I may add, it's definately up there with Jimbob's! I'd just like to pick you up on one thing though...

me and my cousin were at alton towers once, when they were hosting a Cartoon Network event called Towers Today, TV Tomorrow.. the basic premise being, if you're at Alton Towers today you will be on TV tomorrow..
we were oblivious to this and just happened to be there.. the first we knew of it was when we saw tommy boyd and michaela strachan preparing a gunge filled ball pool and obstacle course.. i greeted them with a hearty "tommy farking boyd! how you doing?" and we ended up giving them a hand.. my cousin saw michaela struggling back from the chip van, laden down with food.. he cheerily asked if he could have a chip, but found himself being ignored, which prompted him to shout, in his broad northern irish accent, "aye well feck ye, ye ugly bitch!".. she really was hanging in real life..
