Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

When talk was talked of a dark and mysterious car, with police escort, parked at the hospital earlier, i wondered whether it might be the Health Secretary himself?
I presumed that it could be himself, or some immediate underling, but the car might as well have come from the Kremlin for all the information that seems to be available to the mere general public...

Ministers don't have police outriders as a general rule, not even prime ministers unless they are cutting through London traffic.

Jack Lynch's Cortina is still to be seen on the roads around Cork.

finishing early the last few Fridays has given me the misopportunity of witnessing the stupity of people in the local vicinity of the County Town! Though at times I think I should've left the "O" out of a word, there!
I challenge anybody to sit back, take their time and obey the laws of the road and use some manners, just to see how thick and selfish people are! From car parks to main roads and side roads and beyond - today I witnessed modern society that seems to be acceptable and the norm. Block junctions and stop the traffic flow, and that seems to be the rule of the town. Everybody wanting to get where THEY want to get to quicker than ANYBODY ELSE! I sat back on Tesco car park and left a gap and in about 3 minutes let 5 vehicles in and 3 vehicles out, while other blocked gaps in other places for their own good. We read too often about driving being bad and pedestrians being good. I've been cut up by pedestrians as well as drivers. What we all need is some bloody manners!

The way the traffic gets snarled up during daylight hours in this town is not conducive to good manners.

I very nearly hit a cyclist tonight, at about half past eight. Here, by the Weston Road roundabout. I had lights on and was indicating left off the roundabout - he had no lights and was wearing dark clothing. He came whizzing across from where the silver Ford is in the StreetView picture. I saw nothing until he was in the headlights a few feet in front of me and my foot had hammered the brake before I really realised that I'd even seen him. No actual collision occurred, but I doubt that there was more than a foot to spare. I may go and have a look tomorrow to see if I left any black marks..

I must get a dash-cam - it would have been one to keep.

Well today has to have been the worst thing I have ever had happen to me in my entire time driving,

Pulling out of TK Maxx car park going to turn left into the tight bend that pulls along side Laura Ashley.

As I go to make the turn some genius in a black Vauxhall insignia full on beeps me because I wasn't moving at the 30mph speed he was doing on the Carpark...

So as we turn onto the straight adjacent to Laura Ashley he spins up his wheels and goes to over take me.... At this point he side swipes my car and bumps me into a curb....

Needless to say I stopped the car and got out along with my passenger to inquire what his problem was and if he would like to explain why he felt the need to play up and cause damage to my car.

At this point he tried to drive off but was met with traffic and couldn't pull out.

After what seemed like blur of trying to "Persuade" him to get out of his vehicle to discuss the matter he sped off cutting up quite a few cars.

I managed to follow him and take a picture of his plate at the lights by Cafe Nero. After this I followed him right up to Junction 14 where he jumped on the Motorway and really put his foot down.

I called the Police and gave a statement, they told me it was a company car and cases like this are rarely settled.

WONDERFUL, I get a scuffed car and a curbed wheel and he gets.. nothing.

And people wonder why road rage exists?!

Lucky his door was locked.

I would like to congratulate the winker tried to swerve into me by the Wagon the other day.

As I was going round the roundabout by McDonalds a car pulled onto the roundabout from the Stone Road before I had passed it. No problem I thought as there are two lanes going onto Greyfriars so I continued in the right hand lane indicating left and turned into Greyfriars with said car in my wing mirror.

Whilst passing the Wagon the other car accelerated and undertook me with horn blaring and polite gestures being waved to which I responded with a friendly one fingered wave. The next thing the other car swerved into my lane and back forcing me to move to the right and brake sharply.

When will people learn to drive properly in this town and give reasonable consideration to other road users?

Sadly it's not just in this town, it happens everywhere. Try driving in Wolverhampton, or Manchester and it makes you realise how pleasant a place Stafford is.

Doesn't mean we don't have our fair share of twonks behind the wheel though :(

Indeed, and I certainly wouldn't be risking gestures towards a numpty driver in Wolves or Manchester.... Not if you value your life / motor vehicle at any rate.

I have driven in many parts of the Country and I am sorry to say that I find Stafford drivers fairly ignorant and self centred (sorry if that offends).

This is terrible and needs following up - if the car is a company car the driver will probably claim for any damage to his car through his company. He will have some explaining to do if you report it. I hate the TK Maxx car park and I know the area you mention. I also hate the exit to the car park and have seen several incidents there over the last couple of years where drivers seem to think that there are 2 lanes for the exit when in fact there is only one.

Can't you get the company name off the police and complain to the company, they will know who has the car? Also make a complaint against the police for failing to act on a fail to stop indecent.....

Lucky enough the scuff buffed out, the wheel does have a mark but the way in which he was "politely asked" to get out of the vehicle may cause me some hassle, I did report it to the police however I have no idea if I should follow it up or not.

From what you've said, you didn't handle the situation in the, erm, most ideal way. It might be best left alone and put down to experience. If you claim on insurance then surely the insurer can decide whether to pursue (though they most probably won't. )

Haha, yeah I think that will be it unless he reports it,

Note to the BMW 3 series driver in the Asda petrol station this afternoon. Is it really wise to have a young baby sitting on your passengers knee in the front seat, rather than in a car seat? It clearly wasn't an emergency, how little do you value your child's life?

Report it to the police as somebody driving away from an accident ( alebeit only small) report it to you insurance company. Make sure both police and insurance company have the car reg.

Police will have to investigate. You will have to produce all your documents and give a statement. Police will have to give you an accident number.

Don't do it till your absolutely sure- a car hit my husbands parked car (with me and my daughter in it) a couple of years ago. The driver didn't even stop to see if any damage was done or that we were ok- I was so furious about it that even though there was no damage I reported it to the police (I had the full reg and make, model and colour of the car.....the police confirmed that he had been reported before, and said they had cautioned him for leaving the scene if an accident etc......all good you would think???

Not so, a few weeks later my husband received a massive hike in his car insurance due to the 'accident' we were involved in!

No-one had been injured, and the car hadn't been damaged but due to my pig-headedness we all suffered, it took nearly a year to get them to drop the insurance hike.....I'm guessing the police told the insurance company, and also passed (SOLD) our details to injury claim solicitors who continually phoned and text us for months after!!!

Be very sure you want to go down this route before you open a whole can of worms for nothing!
