Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Randles must be the customer, so surely they can dictate a delivery time if they chose to. Or as has already been suggested enter into an arrangement with Tesco to shove the lorry on their car park for unloading.

If there were unloading restrictions on that stretch of road, then Randles and their supplier would be forced to comply - much like shops in pedestrianised areas can only take deliveries before 10 and after 4.

Having only moved to Stafford last week I must admit I am astounded by the standard of driving of some of the residents.
Whilst some are courteous and will happily let you in to a line of traffic, others act as if you don't exist.
The most concerning thing I have seen is the sheer number of motorists that will happily run a red light, I counted seven in the space of two days and by red light I mean FULL red not an amber gambler.
I watched a red Corsa run the red light at the junction of Newport Road and Lichfield Street at 8 am today, he was just in front of me at the nightclub travelling towards Lichfield Street when the lights went red and yet still ran a red light at the junction that must have been red for 30 seconds.
This has caused me to treat controlled junctions with extreme caution and only move when I am certain the road is clear. Not really what the system was intended for but far safer.

Full marks to the chap in the Mondeo behind me yesterday, who (just) managed to stop when I unexpectedly failed to enter the Gaol Square box junction, as its exit was blocked - he seemed genuinely confused by the situation...

Full marks to the woman that went though the red light and blocked all the traffic from Sainburys road to the jail road yesterday, so you got 10 yards further on your journey before you had to stop

Well done to the Yoofs today packed into their black fiesta at the Tesco traffic lights - they refused to move forward to let a police car with its lights and sirens going get past....

Lets hope you remember how funny you thought it was to hold them up, when you've wrapped your car round a tree and you're waiting for the emergency services to attend and save your life.....police are often first on the scene.....

Stupid behaviour like this makes my blood boil!

Were the lights red and if so, do you mean they refused to go through a red light?

The lights were on red, and they refused to move, even though the police car was beeping, flashing and the sirens were going, and it was safe for them to pull forward enough to let it past...

My dad got a ticket for driving through a red light in just such a situation a couple of years ago. The police in the car he got out of the way for took his number and he ended up with three points and a £75 fine. He wasn't best pleased after 40 years of unblemished motoring.

In this situation I'm afraid I can't blame the driver of the Fiesta (although there's no need for them to look pleased about it.

Although I will do my best to move out of the way of a police car with blues and twos, I wouldn't break any motoring regulations to do so as I might with Ambulance/Paramedic or Fire Brigade.

I would agree that the number of people who pile through red lights in Stafford is insane. I've not experienced it to the same extent in other places!! A few red light cameras certainly wouldn't go amiss...

It is as bad in many other places. That doesn't make it any less of an issue here though.

Always good to hear the phrase 'amber gambler' - if i'm not too mistaken there were adverts advising against such anti-social behaviour some hundred years or so ago where this phrase entered my consciousness. I may look to see if they are u2bed.

Edit: Gawd bless the intertubes.

I was waiting to cross over the pelican crossing at Lloyds Bank,Lichfield road junction lights one day last week .
(Someone else had already pressed it, so rather than just wait for a good moment to run across like I normally do,silly me thought it safer to actually wait for the green man).
Lights went on red for the traffic, green man came on , so much traffic continued through the red lights that by the time the road was clear for me to cross the green man had gone off again!

Then again good job I had my wits about me at the crossing outside Asda yesterday! Lights had turned to red but the car racing towards them ,and a good 50 yards from the lights when they actually turned to red , just kept going at a fair old speed through the lights with no intention whatsoever of stopping .

Sadly, this seems to be common place. I'm constantly astounded as to how many cars I've seen blatantly go through red at pedestrian crossings when there is obviously people waiting to cross the road, but will stop to let someone out of a junction just after they've done it or there is a traffic jam ahead and they had nothing to gain by going through the red. It's no wonder people are driving so much it's so dangerous to cross the road. I find it unforgivable especially with modern technology that the road traffic police are not taking action with the people jumping reds at pedestrian crossings. I gave up moaning to the police yonks ago about it, but if more people rang 101 or emailed the police to whinge about it they I'm sure they would have to take some action purely to go get the crime statistics down, same goes for the yellow box hoggers.

Before the Citroen garage on Lichfield road was Built replacing the old tool hire place - it was a specific point of their planning permission that they did not accept vehicle deliveries at that site or it would not have been granted.

Radford BMW are offenders too - usually at 8 am in the morning.

Now thats interesting - perhaps its about time someone with the authority actually bothered to enforce said restriction...

I can understand that they need to have cars delivered, but it does cause a certain amount of chaos as they always seem to time it for busy periods - there must be another way to do it without causing so many problems?

There's a saying Glam told me some time ago; if someone's stopped to let you out onto a busy road, they're not from Stafford! I've only been driving for about 6 months but the standards out there of some people are shocking, you really need your wits about you. I've nearly been smashed into a couple of times now purely from pig-headed people who want to save a mighty 10 seconds on their journey...

Wolverhampton Road, outside the Albridge Hotel last night. Lights on red, 2 sets of stopped cars, and two pillocks on bicycles decided that the lights didn't apply. Not your usual part-time cyclist either, these chaps had the full day-glo lycra, helmet and goggles attire.

Whilst I agree that manners are a thing of the past when it comes to driving, motorists on a main road travelling at normal speed should NOT stop to let other drivers onto the road from a side street. If the traffic is very slow moving then that is different matter but when it is travelling at normal speed, stopping on a main road to let someone is just plain dangerous.
