Fireworks.

Some cnuts letting off very loud flash-bang fireworks over Sister Dora area right now. AC/DC at full volume currently being played to stop the pups going mad.

There's a lot of morons hanging out over the chase these days. Sunday mornings at Marquis Drive requires care as there's often glass everywhere. Lots of litter. But when I walk my dogs over there I sometimes run into weed wackers as well.

sodium chlorate worked very well
Indeed if you got the proportion of sugar right. Self igniting as well. The problem with fertilizer & diesel is that it isn't self igniting and takes a pretty powerful kick to set it off - something like a bit of semtex

It's hell for our poor dogs too. At least this year we will be safe from being attacked with them. Last year we had to have the fire brigade twice and they fitted a special fireproof post bag. I also had the backs of my legs burned when we had them thrown at us while trying to put out the stuff they'd set on fire. I still get nightmares.
So yeah, organised displays only is my preference. I'm ok with temples etc. running them for Diwali etc. but they should be banned for home use.

I seem to remember from my bike pump bomb days we used several match heads as a detonator with a small length of jetex fuse (which you could buy from Bagnalls in South Walls back then.) Weedkiller and sugar made a fair bomb, but opened up rockets and bangers were better.

Yes, thinking back on it I am a bit ashamed ... but kids eh ?

On the next island to the west, the annual anti-firework campaign is about to start, where the cops will confiscate* any unlicensed fireworks, which is pretty much all of them - and remove the stockpiled material of any large bonfires, to avoid the bizarre craziness that goes on in Northern Ireland.
It actually started officially today.
