For the first time on television all three major emergency services in one of Britain's biggest cities, namely Sheffield, have been followed by dozens of cameras - giving a unique and comprehensive view of the work of the men and women who keep Sheffield safe.

The results of the filming, is shown in the new series entitled "Total Emergency" - which is to be shown on Thursday 8 January 2009, between 9 pm - 10 pm. The series runs for 6 episodes on ITV1

The first of the 6 programmes deals with how the police units respond to a driver out of control in Sheffield City Centre, how a wounded man turns violent against the police and refuses medical assistance and how all 3 services battle together to save two builders trapped underground.
i shall be watching this whilst playing "spot the road", "do i know that person?" and "how badly can sheffield be portrayed?"

and ill be honest, im going to love every minute of it! :cops:

i love shit like this.. sometimes the coppers come across as right dickheads (*cough* road wars *cough*), but more often than not i end up just wishing they had more power to hit idiots over the head with their night sticks lol..

let's hope they do a stafford one one day! :stafford: :cops:

when they filmed the cmpg (central motorway policing group- made up of staffs, west mercia, cheshire and west mids) for traffic cops, some of that was round stafford.....on the m6 mind!

i dont knwo if stafford has enough going on....but im sure stoke would. but then would anybody be able to understand what they were saying? :raise:

edit: watched traffic cops last night and thought the ex-marine traffic cop who was scared of dogs was great. although in fairness, he did manage to very vaguely and politely state he'd been bitten on the ass by a rottweiler so i was inclined to only snigger rather than laugh out loud.

I believe that I may be correct in saying that they were actually Swedish, and were, in fact, twins.

Speaking of Sheffield, got a bloody PCN yesterday for driving in a bus lane in Sheffield.... fu**ers...

I once had to identify my wheelie bin to two uniformed police officers. I suggested that they organise a line-up, but they weren't interested. We're well on the way to a pilot episode.
