Ooohhhhh dear.......should we be able to see peoples moany conversations about other forum members? Or is that a mistake, or have they just had a 'private' conversation in the wrong place? :cops:
Neither! All you are seeing is a news feed of people's profile comments. You have always been able to comment on people's profiles (a bit like posting on someone's wall on Facebook), and you have always been able to update your status (a bit like Twitter) - it's just that now profile posts are included when you click New Posts. :)

Obviously, if someone has set their privacy settings to hide such things, then they will not be included in this feed. Likewise, if they have opted to hide their online status, they will not have a green dot on their avatar. ;)

Mines green spot's not pulsing. Have noticed the bar across the top of the reply bit has lost colour (unless it's something I've done by mistake)

Yes, the editor buttons losing their colour was actually an accident, but to be honest I think the buttons are clearer that way (i.e. the icons more accurately represent the functions that they perform) so I have left it. I can put the colour ones back if the majority want it.

I thought I had hidden my online status, but still got a green dot :q:
You will see a green dot, since you have full permission to view all aspects of your profile, but no-one else will see it. To test it, open a "Private" tab in your browser (or "Incognito" or whatever nomenclature your browser uses) and look at The Forum whilst not logged in. You will see that you are dot-less, and do not appear in the online members list. :)

Also, I think calling it a "facelift" is a bit generous. A lot of the changes I made last night were boring backend stuff, like XML sitemap generation, bounced email handling, etc. There are a couple of new features, as you are discovering, but they are tweaks more than anything else. :P

It sounded like he'd (or she'd, I don't know what Gramaisc is*) made the changes himself/herself

I as purely looking for clarity of whether Gram worked for Admin/StaffordForum!

To be fair, I can see where @1JKz's confusion has come from. I would normally make threads about any changes to The Forum, so the fact that @Gramaisc started this one and then used the royal "we" could make one believe he was in some way responsible for or involved in the changes.

In reality, I just didn't bother to make a thread because the changes were so minor I didn't think it worthwhile, but Forum-faithful @Gramaisc clearly thought otherwise!

I considered just banging it in the end of the old Forum Features thread, but I assumed that I would get bollocked for not starting a new one - you just can't win sometimes...

Look underneath ;)
Ssshh, @littleme, it's meant to be our secret....

I think you can't hide from yourself or from forum admins.
Aaah! Ta :)
