Cast your mind back to the 1970s: do you remember immortal motorbikes-in- mud series Kick Start? Or Children of the Stones, a kids' sci-fi drama in which a village falls prey to the power of a neolithic stone circle? If so, you'll be on a wavelength with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg as they trip though the shows that make their ideal viewing. Frost and Pegg (whose own gems include Spaced - two episodes of which follow this) are sharp and wacky company, despite their habit of giggling over in-jokes. And it's great to be reminded of classics like Kick Start. Surely there's a place in today's schedules for rally bikes charging down vertical cliffs of mud and revving over Volkswagen Beetles as if they were speed bumps? Other delights include Animal Magic, the terrifying Davros from Doctor Who and the even more terrifying Dick Emery.

Already noted. I shall hopefully watch it when I return from Manchester although it depends on how much beer I've had and whether I can physically stay awake beyond 9pm. Growing old is great.

if this is what i think it is, i will be overjoyed.. i've been semi-remembering a program i watched as a kid for years now, that sounds just like this, but any time i describe it to someone they have no idea what i'm on about.. i had honestly started to think i imagined/dreamt the whole thing!

CotS, if memory serves, has Gareth Wossisname who played Blake in Blake's 7, and I think was made by HTV...

"YET MORE 1970s MYSTICO-QUACKERY, this time involving some Stonehenge knock-offs casting evil influence on guillible yokels. All the usual stuff. Welsh village? Check. Local madman? Check. Posh kids? Check. Lunatic professor? Check (IAIN CUTHBERTSON)."

** EDIT: Added bit from TV Cream.
