Tax only accounts for 80.1p in the litre, or around 57% of the cost of fuel. 57% is quite a low rate of tax to be paying on a product..... oh wait.......
Absolute piss take in my opinion.
The age old question still stands - where the hell does all of this money go?
I'm also told by a work mate (who has been known to read the Daily Mail) that average pay for the Drivers is £46k.
Can anyone confirm or deny?
Average price of a litre has risen 23p in 12 months. Increase in duty in that time: nil.
Going back to my previous question. How many drivers are actually making an effort to use less? People are still choosing to drive stupidly inefficient vehicles like 4x4s they don't need, still driving inefficiently and still making short trips they don't even need to make by car.
It goes into general taxation.
