They seem to be less happy today after bath with soapy water

Thanks! I did not use chemicals because my daughter is very curious and has to touch everything and just worried I would poison her instedGramaisc said:1, Try to spray the soapy water upwards. They mostly hang about under the leaves - what misses will fall down on the top surface then.
2, It is technically illegal to use such an uncertified substance as a weedkiller - so, if anybody asks, then you are merely washing the plants. Enjoy being an outlaw, and saving money.

It isn't the eating of the soap that kills them, it is the increased surface tension of the water that forms a film over their spiracles ( breathing holes ) and so they 'drown' - don't have nightmares.....
