I use a little washing up liquid in a cheap hand sprayer you can buy from Wilkinson,

You can use it on Greenfly or Blackfly and on edible crops as well as flowers, just don't sray your veg just before eating as it tastes horrible.

So yes spray those chillies tek-monkey!

1, Try to spray the soapy water upwards. They mostly hang about under the leaves - what misses will fall down on the top surface then.

2, It is technically illegal to use such an uncertified substance as a weedkiller - so, if anybody asks, then you are merely washing the plants. Enjoy being an outlaw, and saving money.

Tell her that touching things gives you chicken-pox.

It isn't the eating of the soap that kills them, it is the increased surface tension of the water that forms a film over their spiracles ( breathing holes ) and so they 'drown' - don't have nightmares.....
