We’re thrilled to announce that Channel 5’s new series, The Motorway Hotel, which will air next week, is all about us!
Taking a behind the scenes look at our family run business, over the course of four episodes the show follows our team and guests as well as our relationship with one of Britain’s busiest motorways, the M6.
This is an announcement we couldn’t have imagined we would ever be sharing but we’re absolutely thrilled the team from Britespark Films & Channel 5 approached us and can’t wait to watch the series!
Make sure you tune in to Channel 5 next week Tuesday 11th June to Friday 14th June at 7pm!

The mere title Motorway Hotels makes me immediately think of a crappy Days Inn type establishment, something I wouldn't think the Moat House would want to be associated with 😂

Yes, and as one who appreciates peace and quiet "our relationship with one of Britain’s busiest motorways, the M6" reminds me of the overbearing noise from it whenever I've walked past the Moat House along the canal towpath between Stafford and Penkridge.

I always thought of the moat house as a quality country hotel, however it was portrayed on this show as being crossroads motel based on the hard shoulder of the M6.

It would not be in any way out of character for this paterfamilias to enjoy the failure of his progeny.

That was exactly my thinking when I read the title of the programme 🤣

I'm glad it was not just me, the continued reference to it being the "Motorway" hotel and truckers stopping for their Bangers and Mash, it really did give it the portrayal as a Travel Lodge type hotel, which I was really surprised that the Moat House wanted that type of portrayal considering the brand it has built up over the years.
Maybe its changing direction now, to be the anyone and everyone venue of choice for day trips and truckers, but having watched the show it was surprising in parts of how they had let or agreed for it to be edited and released.
