Gypsies/Travellers are in the area

They've tried to get onto the field or car park near Beaconside sports center but have been met by the Police.

Ah, that's what it is. I've just come past and the entrance to the Health Centre is still blocked with a van. It was there with a few cop cars a couple of hours ago - I assumed, when I first saw it, that they'd just pulled it for something and were just using an off-road space to investigate matters further..

There was a cop car cruising the area earlier, clearly on the lookout for somebody/something..

Saw this too - a few burley men and a van not looking very happy!

Must have driven right past you G!

We then got cut up by them at the roundabout!

Last time the travellers were around, parked up on the carpark between Stafford and Doxey our workshop got broken into, we lived right next door and the dog was out, funnily enough he didn't make a sound. I would bet money on the fact that it was someone local taking advantage of blaming the stereotype.

I've made sure everything is alarmed tonight.

There's a very large group of 'travellers' who live in Stafford all year round - most of them used to come in the shop - and what a delight they were too!!!!! (said sarcastically)

Well, the stereotypes seem to be fairly accurate. One of the kids was piddling up against one of the offices and another two went around the corner with some bog roll. The paper was blowing around the site after then.

Bear in mind this is a technology park with offices, not some greenfield site.

Back in the day they really were "travellers" .....

Pitch up for a bit, walk round the estate, sell you some lucky Heather, read your fortune ( tall dark handsome stranger...)
then the men would Tarmac a few drives, then on the way.

All done and dusted in a few weeks and not too many lonely housewives up the duff.

Now.......the travellers don't want to travel........go figure.

I think 'back in the day' people had a very different attitude towards them, farmers would allow them to camp in fields and there were more common areas around.

Now where ever they go the police turn up within seconds and they're constantly being forced out/away.

They don't have very many options, it seems a very sad life to me.

They could go on the dole and get a flat? I think the main issue is that most of them trash wherever they stay, so nobody wants them around.

They have left the Techno park now.
The camp was opposite the office where I am working at the moment.
Only a few bits of debris left behind!

Is it a white one? I see a lady driving a white Mk1 on my way back to Weeping Cross most days.

Travelers move in, crime rate increases. Criminal damage, trespass, littering, polluting, tax evading.

You want me to change my attitude to that?

I work on the tech park also (Ardentia House), where abouts were they? I didn't see any evidence of them this morning.

I am right at the top of the hill, near to Tasty Pantry. (at Business Safety Systems)
They were in the car park next to Voice 2 Voice / Blue Circle which is over the road.

If I was driving about in an expensive motorhome, I'd find somewhere nicer to park than a tech estate in Stafford.

I'd go to the seaside and stay there for while!
