I was casually perusing ebay motors this morning and stumbled across the rover mini neon I sold in 2010 after writing it off! I can’t believe I found it again! I loved that car soooo much but was forced to sell as couldn’t afford to repair it after writing it off as a cat C!

And tomorrow it will be mine again!!!!!!!

I cant believe it, I miss that car so much!

Has anyone else ever brought back an old car? Or wished they hadn’t sold one?

Most of the cars we've sold have been to scrap metal dealers. If I saw them again on ebay I'd be contacting the police.

Hi - we sold our Mini Cooper (old K reg) a few years ago, we too loved it and had to sell it when it was 3 years old because of finances and setting up home etc ...

Last year I too was looking for a Mini on Ebay and found my old Mini K reg black mini cooper. We travelled all the way to Lancashire to purchase it back, but sadly the photo's were obviously very old and it was a shed of its former glory. I was so upset. It was too far gone to be restored and had to leave it .....

Unfortunately the kids that owned it thought they had an original Austin Mini Cooper and thought it was worth a bit - but my dear car was a Rover Mini so wasnt worth anything, with the fact that the A panels were like sieve's, the windows were falling in :( it was in a real sad state

Still love that car x and all the mini's we have had since.

I'm assuming you've checked out the paper trail that goes with the repairs and had the standard of repairs independently inspected? There's nothing to say it'll be a problem but it's worth checking the car is safe and has been properly repaired. I never sell a good car no matter what repairs it needs. After spending 20 years finding ways to resurrect and maintain faithful workhorses it still pains me when people turn their backs on cars that have served them for years and send them to the scrap heap. You wouldn't put down your dog because it's gone a bit lame. I might be a bit mental but I believe cars have souls and character just like a pet. It's sad that to a lot of people cars have become disposable objects like washing machines or toasters.

I once part-exed a car with a chap in Rugeley for his similar pick-up, and then had the car itself back about two years later, for parts for the pick-up..

Thanks aa silencers, Im going down tomorrow to have a look at it, I know that car inside and out, the other half is a mechanic and changed the rear subframe on it, and of course I'll ask to see all paper work etc!

AA Silencers, you actually changed the exhaust on it a few years ago, you prob dont remember, and if anything else needs doing to it, i'll bring it your way!

After selling a cat C write off I swore I would never buy a car that had been written off, but I just have to have this one back, pending a full inspection!

Hi

Many years ago I bought an Aprilia AF1 Futura bike in 1991. In 1993 I traded it in for another bike. It turned up on Ebay in 2008 and I bought it back.

All the best

Dear me poor spelling and GrammAr - in answer to another thread I went to Weston Rd high school - maybe you shouldn't send your kids there......

I do apologise Gramaisc - have you not learnt by now how slow I am at getting jokes lol - every joke should have a side note explanation for me.....
