How do you softmod your Wii?
Don't have the game so can't help on that front, but didn't think there was a softmod?
I used an Argon chip and a clip and works a dream. Peasy to fit and no soldering.

until recently it was only possible to run homebrew and VC games via the softmod, but a couple of bootloaders have been released now, so you can also run "backups" of wii games.. they're not perfect, but you know what these console hacking geeks are like - give it a couple of months and soon you'll be able to do things with your wii you only dreamed of!
so, yeah, if anyone has twilight princess that they don't mind me borrowing, i'd be much obliged

if anyone (like me) intends to soft-mod their wii at some point, make sure you don't apply the most recent update that was released last week.. apparently it blocks all new installations of "fake-signed" homebrew stuff!

i'm am renewing my request to borrow zelda, and now it's getting serious.. i've just found out that scummvm has been ported to the wii, and now fully supports the wii remote!
what's that you say - monkey island, and beneath a steel sky on the wii?? yes ruddy please!!
i thought twilight princess was one of the "must have" games on the wii? surely someone has it?? the only reason i don't is because my only experience of zelda is the N64 version which i bought on the virtual console.. i struggled with the controls on the opening world/map screen for about 30 minutes, got pissed off, and never played it again lol..

From what I read, I thought you had to load Twilight Princess up every time you wanted to enable the mod, as you load it off the hacked save-game - it doesn't permanently alter the firmware. I might be wrong though, I didn't read it that thoroughly.
In which case, you're going to have to buy it anyway (boo). Try Zavvi - I got a billy bargain on Super Mario galaxy the other day.

no, you only need it once.. from there, you install the homebrew channel, and then you are free to install all and sundry! there is even a bootloader now, which works with almost every game out there, so you can play "backups" without needing to swap discs or anything faffy..Monquey said:

I have done the LoveFilm trial about 3 or 4 times before... as long as you remember to cancel you're fine and in profit.....

never used these kinds of services before so i'm not entirely sure how it works.. do my choices just sit on my rental list and they will come to me as and when they are available? there doesn't seem to be a "confirm choice" or "send me this now" option - i can just add titles to my rental list..
either way, zelda is on there now.. and i stuck metroid prime 3 on as well.. in fact, this 90-day free trial business could be pretty handy! obviously i'll cancel it as soon as it's up though lol..

Just as, erm, research, does what you are doing require modding the wii in any way? Cos we have one here we were gonna chip, but if there is a better way...

@ tek - no physical modding required at all.... its all software and because of that its free (if you have a copy of Zelda).
I have mine chipped and fitted it myself with a clip... really easy and works great but if I had waited 3 months could have soft modded.
