Help - re. Old Pub in Stableford.

Alabama

Newbie
Please can anyone tell me the name of a Staffordshire pub now closed? It is now Stableford Court, a private development at Stableford on the A51.

That was the amusingly named Cock Inn, @Alabama.

Where there's a caravan park behind it, next to the railway after the nasty bend into the bridge...

I think it did have another name as the end drew near...

There was a pub called the Cock Inn in one of the Carry On films. Always makes me smile.

Pretty sure it used to have a good reputation for food, mind you that was over 30 years ago! Definitely pre caravan park, once had a meal there, wasn"t overly impressed if memory serves me write! Amusing name that used to make me chortle when passing by car to visit my relatives in Nantwich! Can 't help but notice the sign is still there from the pub/restaurant on the road twixt Beaconside and Sandon. Was Ronnie Rostenburgs place, Star & Garter :?:. 3/4 cottages now, and the 'No to HS2' signs are no longer in evidence! Curiouser & curiouser!

Wasn't it an Indian restaurant for a short time
I can't quite make out what the sign says in the picture above, where the shutters have gone up. I have a vague recollection of it passing through the "restaurant phase" just before its final demise.

The disco was held upstairs in the Cock Loft. This was circa 1988 / 1992. Around this time the place used to get pretty busy on the weekend. Many a farmers daughter used to frequent the place.
