Help with pub name

The pub that used to be on Browning street, now a chemist. What was it called prior to Brahms And Liszt?

We purchased the pub in 1985, it was not being used at that time as it was closed down, due to a drugs problem and the licensing laws/ hours, . We started off as the same name as before, The Brahms and Lizt, the hours then for us was open until 2am, long hours and a problem arose. I decided after a short while that we would change the pub back to being a local, darts Pool, quiz, etc etc, it took a while but eventually we had a very nice local pub, we renamed it the New Vic. We spent 15 yrs there and had some really good times with our friends and customers, lots of Music, live, and discos, Karaoke and comedians, etc a football team, and restaurant, for special occasions, buffets. We sold it to Enterprise inns in 1998, and from there on quite a few people took on the tenancy, but no one stayed to long as the Brewery put up the rents and the beers had to be bought from the brewery, and so any chance of succeeding was impossible no matter how they tried, this is the way that they work! After several couples tried, it eventually closed down altogether, so Sad. In answer to your friends, question the fire was arson as they set it alight in several places in different rooms it was in the Newsletter (i did post the cutting) enterprise then sold it and it became , Browning St pharmacy. And so the story goes, from drugs to drugs! Not funny but thats the way it goes. Was previously known as the Old Victoria - old Vic.

I did the Karaoke's there for some time when it was the New Vic. In fact, I abused my DJ/KJ role for chatting up mrs WMR - it was where we met. Seems almost ironic that I can now return there for headache tablets - the cure for the very problem the same building created!! (jokes)
