I forgot to start watching it again, only saw the first half of season 4.
You did not miss very much, I don't know why I bothered watching it by about that time, but carried on. It started as something fresh & new, by the time it was as stale as a very stale thing.

You see, now.

This is the problem with the commissioning Editors. They run pilots on the basis that they must run and run, regardless of inconvenient things like plot trajection and character development. Soaps have overcome such nuisances by over-lapping and running over what now are vast periods of time.

Lost is the uber-example of this phenomenon. I recall the first series of such that creator had said i have x (damn you Mr. X) many ideas - this could run & run. And so it has.

I haven't seen any but the first series of the above* so can't claim to be authoritative but these series tend to be chasing an agenda they have set themselves, rather than aiming at any clarity of vision.

Such is my regard for such Blockbuster TV series anyway - and such is the nature of my discourse when amply refreshed.

*Edit: That's not true, i saw the second series also.
