Possibly can't compete with quality food at The Bell.
Apparently there has been a price 'war' between the two pubs and the result appears to have defeated the Shropshire ..

With the Hand and Cleaver offering Michelin listed and the highest quality food, these two scrapped it out over price for meals out west of town. The Yew Tree offered neither high quality nor low prices and is I believe now in the hands of the Nat West bank. The Seighford Holly Bush is awaiting conversion to a 'curry house' but appears to have run into a few problems regarding making interior alterations. I wrongly had Stan Robinson down as a purchaser of the pub earlier - he appears to have sensibly stuck to his trucks

In its final days the Yew Tree brought in a flat screen TV and pool table in a desperate attempt to bring anyone/someone into the place..

It failed

Also

It appears that the Shropshire Inn in Haughton is about to close its doors...
Came past yesterday afternoon and it appeared to be very busy with diners, unless they allocate window tables first to give that impression.
