How do I double quote?

Are the Quote buttons on the 2 messages you clicked now red, to show that you have clicked them? If so, you should find that there is new button at the bottom-left of the white reply box (where you type your response) which says "Insert Quotes". Just click that. :)

No when i click them they go from green +Quote to blue -Quote but there is nothing at all in the white reply box.

I wonder if you're perhaps using a very old version of Internet Explorer? That would also explain why the green 'online' dots don't pulsate as they should do. If you aren't able to upgrade to a newer browser, then the only other way would be to click Reply on the first message you want to reply to, type your response, then scroll back up to the second message you want to reply to and click Reply on that and it will appear in the reply box, underneath your first reply. :)

Just having fun to see if it works, which it does with Pale Moon browser & Mocha page style. However the green spot initially throbbed but stopped doing so several days ago, which is a benefit as the throbbing was annoying.

I'm not sure then I'm afraid, @Carole. I've just tested it using Internet Explorer (simply because it's the 'standard' web browser that most people use) and it worked.

Not sure that I would agree that IE is the standard web browser that most people use. Figures vary widely from one source to another but typical set of figures for UK for desktop computers in Feb are -

Date: February 2015
Internet Explorer: 18.91%
Chrome: 48.71%
Firefox: 16.53%
Safari: 10.21%
Opera: 1.63%
Mobile: 32.98%

Or if you really want some figures data.gov.uk gives % views in February -

Internet Explorer: 35.52%
Chrome: 35.39%
Firefox: 15.28%
Safari: 10.58%
Android Browser: 1.37%
Opera: 0.40%
IE with Chrome Frame: 0.40%
Safari (in-app): 0.35%
Mozilla: 0.14%
Opera Mini: 0.14%
Amazon Silk: 0.11%
Mozilla Compatible Agent: 0.09%
BlackBerry: 0.08%
(not set): 0.04%
Maxthon: 0.03%
UC Browser: 0.02%
S40 Ovi Browser: 0.02%
SiteCon Browser: 0.02%
YaBrowser: 0.01%
SeaMonkey: 0.00%
Iron: 0.00%
RockMelt: 0.00%
Camino: 0.00%
Playstation 3: 0.00%
Links: 0.00%

USA still mostly uses IE, UK & rest of Europe tend not to

I use Firefox v 36.0.4 and I can't multi quote either. Plus, when I tried to turn off the green online status it said it was already off, but it shows to me still??

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
Firstly

Find a couple , usually married, who don't speak to each other

Then offer to do those ' little jobs' that they have been putting off doing for so long around the house

Send in two quotes, one each, get paid twice

Simples
