4000th post? Whatever, I'm nonchalant..
pubic floggings? does anyone now when they stopped hanging people in stafford? i'm not suggesting it though. i actually think rie's had a bit of raw deal on this post. i love stafford, think it's the mutts nuts, but still take the piss out of it once in while.

Oh dear wookie, your knowledge of Cornwall is far worse than anyone i know, it is devon that participates in incest activities, the Cornish are the harderned decendents of Pirates and Tin miners, full of mythical tales and legends, ive heard most of these stories and not once have i heard a tale of a family that "loved each other too much"..... So hush your mouth!

well countryside devonish folk arent as bad, but if you venture into the depths of the skankyish places of Plymouth then you will see what i mean, the definition of "confusion" in plymouth is "fathers day".

Are you on about Blaenau Ffestiniog? Yep I’ve been there on one of the rare occasions it wasn’t raining. I happen to like Wales very much and the rain doesn’t bother me. It’s something you expect there, and it has made the place a very beautiful place.
Yes, I was on about that place. Don't get me wrong I love Wales. My in-laws have lived there for 30 odd years my husband even speaks the language! But Blaenau Ffestiniog is soo grey especially in the rain.

I thought one of the objectives of it was to promote Stafford, and to give the opportunity for its populace to come on here share ideas, and to make it a better place.
"I love this crazy town" you obviously don't.
Well said gon2seed! If i was so anti-Stafford i certainly wouldn't bother airing my views on a forum which is so blatantly dedicated to bigging the place up! (Especially not in my introductory post)
I’m sorry but maybe you should change the name then because it looks to me it’s called Stafford forum indicating that anyone with a view on Stafford is welcome to come and have their say. Perhaps the Stafford lovers’ forum?

Ok before anyone says, I’m not attacking their precious town. It’s just I am kinda disheartened at the fact that no one seems welcome people who dare to have an opinion which is contrary to everyone else. And I think it’s a shame, because if it wouldn’t be for people pretending everything’s peachy and fine the things that people don’t like about the world may actually change.

If you could somehow get Stafford to unite and help each other out instead of slagging each other off and generally being unfriendly you could make this town great

Just a thought…

Hi Rie..

You are right, on both points.. However, imagine the situation in reverse - an unknown quantity enters your circle of friends, and the first thing out of their mouths is an attack on something you all hold dear.. I'm sure you would react in a similar way, and doubtless your friends would be there to back you up!

I'm sure, within that same circle of friends, you have discussions and debates, where peoples' opinions differ and sometimes the result can become heated - but always remains civil.. That is because you know each other, and have taken time to integrate yourself into that group..

It's no different here.. I think people took umbrage because it almost seemed like you joined the Forum with the specific intent of "slagging off" Stafford.. This is obviously going to put peoples' noses out, hence the reaction you are seeing here..

As I have stated, I honestly don't feel this was your intention.. I think everyone has calmed down now, and there have even been a few apologies.. Best to let it lie now, take a deep breath, and we'll all start again :)

Welcome to The Forum!! :D
