miss t mentioned her imaginary friend in this thread, and to avoid derailing it further i figured i'd start a new one here :)

I had an imaginary friend as a child, called jojo, pronounced in the french way. He was part mouse, part kangaroo, and very mischievous.
He is dead now.

he went away to die, like an elephant does. You fool.
this made me remember that i too had an imaginary friend, after a fashion, and that they (for there were 2 of them) too "left" one night.. i never thought they left to die, as per miss t, but i have distinct, vivid memories of them saying goodbye, and even leaving me a note to that effect..

which makes me wonder - is there a big, mystical "imaginary friend" graveyard somewhere out there?

I'm so happy. You too believe there's a place in the sky or 'Milk', where they live together.
I know you've viewed Drop Dead Fred with a fondness.

Lol, letters from the other side. Do you still have them?

i never received letters from "the other side," i'm afraid.. i don't remember this imaginary pair being particular prominent in my childhood, but i totally believed they were real.. one night, i woke up to find a note saying they were going.. i caught them in the act, and they gently explained that they had to go (though never said why).. i remember their words floated over me like liquid, and put me in a kind of trance where everything they said just felt soothing.. that was the last i saw or heard from them..

years later, looking back, it crossed my mind that they may have been aliens lol.. nowadays i just don't know what to believe, but if you ask my mum about them she can still vividly describe them from the information i passed on as a nipper..

My Mum too has some wonderful stories, I remember once Jojo was being very naughty he broke my Mum's ornament by hurling it across the room, it smashed on the fireplace, he tried to make me take the blame, but my old Ma was to wise, she knew!
DB, do you recall what your 'friends' looked like and did they have names?

i don't remember much about them at all.. my mum seems to remember more, by proxy..

i remember that they both looked a bit like mr. messy from the mr. men (i.e. all one colour, composed of stranded material).. one was red and one was blue.. the only memory i have is of that night they left :meh:

I am truly sorry for your loss.:(=(
i'm sure they've been having a right old laugh, with jojo and their other friends, for the last 20 years or so, in whatever magical place they've returned to :)

lol.
When my bro was two, I asked him "What is there past the clouds and sky?". He answered "Space". I then asked " ok, what is there after that?",after some thought he replied "Milk".
Which is when I remembered that Jojo had said before departure that Milk is where he came from.
I'm telling you these Nasa boffins need to talk to the young, they have all the answers
