It's my understanding that the building is still an asset of Freddie Sandy, and may still become a Wimpy if the site becomes vacated.prime location too, surprised it closed. the one at milford is always busy, then again there's not many options around there
Guess it's all about the dolla too, probably got a lot for selling up
Baffles me why we can't have nice things around town, I mean there's a 4th macy's going up on j13 by catch corner I believe
Unlikely, as he's no longer with us.It's my understanding that the building is still an asset of Freddie Sandy,

Casa are merely just paying rent to them. Which is quite a substantial amount.
It was probably the best Wimpy site though, perhaps just a little on the large side.
They also had one near Home Bargains which later became the Bap Shop.
Young lady I used to go with has just turned 40 and I can remember it being her 21st when we worked together.

Yeah , that's the one. That's the one behind Woolworths?
Wimpy (1934) is six years older than McDonalds (1940) but has dropped from over 500 British sites in the 1970s to 67 now, McDonalds franchisees having obviously been more successful.Wimpy was, and is, very expensive compared to McDonalds. You can mention the food quality but price and a massive advertising budget wins in the fast food market.
Over the last few days I have purposely chosen to shop at the market rather than anywhere else and I've been impressed. I bought my meat from the butchers and fruit and veg from the stall next door. Excellent service and quality produce.
I remember going to the market with my nan as a child, over 30 years ago, it was such a bustling place then - its not now.
The managers of the market need to do a lot to make it more welcoming, however we can all help by supporting the market and shopping locally.
