Its Just Rubbish

I have mentioned this before, but it is relevant to this thread. In my area of Stafford I have setup a small group of like minded individuals who regularly carry out litter picks on their street and neighbouring streets if they feel they can manage it. We now have 12 individuals within Forebridge and 6 people in the wards that neighbour ours. Through carrying out these regular/informal litter picks we have generally found that the amount of litter being dropped is less.

If anybody who lives in Forebridge and would like to be involved please pm me and if there is anybody in neighbouring wards who is considering setting up a similar scheme I would be happy to share my experiences.

Must have done. I did a search before posting mine but didn't come up with anything.

Maybe the 2 threads could be merged ?

I must have been having a senior moment.

I had actually replied on this thread and then for some bizarre reason started another thread with the same title.

Just walked the dog on a Circular route from Brocton to Milford through the Chase then back along the road.

Filled 2 carrier bags full of rubbish. Then had to find bins with enough room to put it all in.

I Might have to ask the council to provide me with another wheely bin for other peoples rubbish..Grrr!

I hate rubbish and can not understand why people feel the need to drop litter. Whenever we go to Cannock chase we take a spare carrier bag and pick up orher people's litter as we walk round. Although it is incredibly frustrating it is satisfying to know that you are making a positive difference to the area.

Keep up the good work.

I struggle to comprehend why some people find it so difficult to put rubbish in the bin. The inconsiderate louts purchased the item, it is therefore their responsibility to dispose of the rubbish in a bin...

Off to bang my head against a wall....

People can be very 'strange' about their own responsibilities with rubbish.

I was once asked to put some NiCd batteries in the bin on my way out...
You can't put cadmium in the bin!
I didn't know there was cadmium in them.
That's why they're called nicads.
Put them in the bin anyway.
No. It say here that you can't bin them.
Where?
Here.
What does that mean?
It's a picture of a wheelie-bin with a cross through it - guess.

I left them there, but I know they ended up in the bin.

And brown bins - they're for garden rubbish, right? Yeah, I regularly remove polythene compost bags, plastic flower pots, etc. In one place, I'm sure she would have put the old mower in, if she could have lifted it.
