Jogging in Stafford

There appear to be a lot of joggers about ATM, is there a marathon type thing coming up?

I'd like to try one, you know, for charidy.

Also, I find jogging mind-numbingly boring. Does anyone in the top end of silkmore area fancy coming along?!

I'd offer cake but it kind of defeats the object.

All sport is boring without a valid goal and an MP3 player. For me cycling becomes fun when the waypoints are watering holes :D

I think it's just the weather for it and some people have realised that running outside instead of on a treadmill is actually more fun.

You tend to see a lot of runners in the months before the Stafford Half marathon who then disappear.

May be a tad late for the original post, but if interested in company whilst jogging give these lovely people a try!

Brocton Heights side of the chase is quite popular.

Sorry, I think I might have misread the thread title

I had also noticed a profusion of joggers this afternoon, but I was particularly impressed by the chap on the Beaconside cycle-path who was being pulled along, on a skateboard, by a dog - in this manner.

Cheating, I feel, but still not easy.

Plenty of adrenalin fuelled singletrack over the chase. MTBing is fun :)

You don't see any 'larger' ladies running tho. It's all size 6-8 that ain't got an ounce of fat on 'em! All skinny minnies who wouldn't know a mars bar if it jumped up n bit them on the bum. Tho i'd give it a go if chocolate cake were at the end.......x

They're too self conscious to do it outside. They're the ones at the gym one month a year wondering why the weight isn't coming off :)

I used to be the Harriers when it first started for several years and it is a great place to make new friends as well as getting fit. (Although a few of us did tend to consume more calories in the bar afterwards than we had burnt off in those days)
In fact I was the Ladies manager for a while before giving it up to have my son. It is nice to see some of the old faces still running around 'The Stafford Half' nowadays.

Well recommended for anyone new to the area to meet up and make friends .

If it wasn't for knackering my knees by racing too much I'd be back............ just settle for the boozing bit now :)

that makes me want a dog.
He didn't actually have a top hat on, but there is a strange paucity of adequate pictures of this practice.
he WAS wearing a top hat, don't ruin the illusion for me!
Maybe he was - but it wasn't on his head, as far as I could see - although I was paying more attention to the dog, obviously..

As there are very few earth quakes in Stafford you can tell i don't jog. My knees just wouldn't take it. My sis in law runs, and diets and doesn't eat much more than a carrot. Stupid/girl woman now has ribs you can park bikes in, in fact Tek if you are ever in the hednesford area and need a bike rack, just check it's not a blonde stokey woman having a lie down :P Her freinds just keep telling her how wonderful she looks, i'm afraid i just think she looks like a famine victim :(
Anyways that was a bit off topic lol. Apart from not being able to jog i find the whole idea a bit boring 'm afraid.
