Kindle batteries

Is it possible to have new batteries put in Kindles and if so is there anyone in the area who can do it.

I'm on my 2nd Kindle (not used for ages, probably dead now). But when my first one croaked I tried to get it apart and it was tough to do. I suspect with a heat gun and some care it could be taken apart, but these things are not designed to be serviced or repaired that's for sure.
