Very unusual for the MOD to give up land.

"A new vehicular access from Beaconside and from Sandon Road with associated traffic management measures."

Which is your typical salesperson speak for a revised junction with traffic lights. I don't think there's a single person who drives around Stafford who says "I don't think we have enough traffic lights".

I just remember when the RAF left the site I wondered if they would sell it off and my work colleague said that, that they never do that. Shows how much he knew :)

Ex retired from 6 site a few years ago, he doesn't miss the place at all.

Look on the upside of living near the Sandon Road you lot. Free swimming pool !! Fishing lake !!! Submarine Pens !!!! Good views of incoming tsunamis !!!!! Great White Sharks !!!!!! Massive Tectonic Plate movements !!!!!!! (OK OK, that last one might be a bit of an exaggeration. ):P:P

That was No 3 Site.
This is No 4 Site.
Maybe No 2 Site next.
And I doubt if they're still using No 6 Site.
No longer a storage depot, that's why so much isn't needed.

I see so they are a new build in front of the other 2 that never had access to.. Someone blocked off the ally a few years ago and it waa overgrown

I used to live on Sandon Road just near here, you accessed our garage from the back and we were the last house you could access. These houses were built on the blocked off land next door I think, taken them a very long time to build and pretty sure they stopped completely twice.

Great access to the balancing lakes though!
