Laptop Graphics Card Advice Needed.

I have an Advent laptop but want to play a game on it, the minimum spec suggests Nvidia Geforce graphics card, I currently only have onboard graphics. Can anyone suggest a graphics card with a reasonable amount of poke that is suitable for laptop.

Your onboard could be an nvidia anyway, but it's not usually upgradeable on most laptops mate - if it's got onboard then that's what you're stuck with.

Also, the nvidia chips overheat easily on laptops and the repair is so costly that you might as well throw the laptop away - so unless it's a gaming spec'd laptop I wouldn't bother

Curses, well I already have the game so I could try it and see if it runs ok on my laptop, unlikely though. Really appreciate the response though.

No problem. Depending on the type of game, if it's nothing too heavy it will likely run it. Give it a go.... you've nothing to lose!
