Anyone know a good one? Wookie's bored of being one of life's pedestrians and saw a nice figure at the bottom of a bank statement the other day. :)

rob senior

he's a top chap, and has an excellent rep, so much so that he doesn't advertise (not even via a a cuffy plastic sign on his car) cos he already gets so much work via word-of-mouth.. plus you will get to learn in a nice fiesta with personalised reg and nice black alloys..

unless you've got money to burn, in which case go with that guy that i see around town, teaching learners in a bright orange Focus ST! what kind of mentalist lets learners behind the wheel of a £20k 2.5l turbo-charged Focus?? lol..

Yep Rob for me too.... Top bloke, only lives a couple of streets away from me... (and drives a tasty Renaultsport Megane for good measure)

He got me through my test after only 5 lessons (some 12 years ago!)

Hello, Carol? It's Alan. How are you? Me? I'm having a fantastic time, yeah. I'm having the best time since, sliced bread. How's Mr. Planet of the Apes man? Oh. Is he still driving that Renault Megane? Yeah, can I just read you something from Top Gear magazine? No, it's alright, I've got it here, I've got it here: 'With a mere ninety break-horse-power available, progress is too leisurely to be called fast, but on the motorway in fifth gear the Megane's slow pace really becomes a pain. Uphill runs become power-sappingly mundane, while overtaking National Express coaches can become a long, drawn-out affair.' Not my words, Carol; the words of Top Gear magazine. *Click* Hello? Hello?

Ian Whittle he's newly qualified and a top bloke. We trained together but I didn't like it in the end too much like hard work, even though I had 100% pass rate.

Ian's number is 07800 867396 or 01785 607959.

Rob is also a good instructor I went out with him on one or two of his lessons for training purposes.

Common means good, they are popular because they are of a reasonable quality and priced right. There's nothing chavvy about a Ford, vauxhall is where the chavs get their motors.... the Nova, Corsa, Astra with lexus lights, all the rudeboys in essex who arn't rude enough to drive a range rover drive... a vectra. Usually with lexus lights. Only chavvy cars ford made were the XR2i and XR3i.. which they discontinued as they realised it drew from their brand's reputation. And the fiesta ST150 is not a chav car, its a very very well engineered car taking most of it's technology from the acclaimed ST170 and ST220.

come on, ford are a bit chavvy.. don't get me wrong, i'm a huge lover of ford - foci in particular, as is well known round these parts - but you can't deny that the bright orange ST foci that seem to be more and more common round these parts are a bit cheddar lol..

maybe "chavvy" is the wrong word, cos a bona fide chav could never afford such a quality motor (having to settle instead, as you say, for a vauxhall with added plastic bits).. but they definitely make you think the person behind the wheel will have a fred perry jumper on and a massive chain round his neck lol

Yeah you're right the bright orange ST is a bit crap to look at and just screams attention seeking. I can understand you wanting people to see you in an orange murcielago but not a ford. If you buy a ford you buy it for you, not for your image. The foci ST is a fun fun car, but yeah orange is a no no. If you get a black one then you have bought yourself a lovely, well engineered machine. Although you should have bought a Type-R for the same money ;) lol

Is that a Moomin?
i learned with John edwards and he was very patient with my continual mistakes as it was i did not pass my test but that was down to my complete panic under any test situation not his teaching skilz :P

Chris Peczek taught me and I passed first time. He's very calm and gives clear instructions, and you don't feel stupid for asking stupid questions, as he's happy to explain things again if you're not sure about something.

I was a very nervous driver and had a different instructor to begin with (who shouted at me when I made a mistake) but I felt a lot less nervous with Chris and as a result started to make better progress with my driving.

Oh, and at the time (this was a year or so ago though) the first lesson was free. Highly recommended!
