Local Man Needs Our Votes.

Afternoon All;

Through Jewson's, they run a community scheme each year where local projects and local trade hero's get nominated, then if there lucky enough, they get shortlisted.

This year a fellow Staffordian - David Thomas has been shortlisted by his daughter. This was her entry in her own words:

David Thomas is a plasterer by trade. He began working in the trade at 14 helping his dad and over the years has picked up skills off other tradesmen. He is a committee member on the Little Laura charity board and has spent the last year helping build a sensory garden at Marshlands Special School in his free time. He works from 5:30-19:30 Monday to Friday and also works a lot of weekends. His spare time is limited and very valuable which makes this contribution even more special.
Although this garden doesn't require a plasterer he has adapted to be a fence builder, a concrete layer and in the upcoming weeks will be building a log cabin. He has also hand build numerous items for the garden including a mud kitchen and sound equipment.
My dad works very hard with very little recognition.
After this project which we hope to finish in June we will begin working alongside another special needs school, Walton Hall, where we will be helping to do up their farm area. This funding would be extremely valuable in this project.
The Little Laura charity was set up by my mom and myself in memory of my sister. After losing his daughter my dad has been a rock to the family. He truly deserves this recognition more so than anyone I know and I know he would utilise this funding to ensure that the maximum number of special needs children benefited.

As a town let's get behind David's entry - let's try and get him as many votes as possible!!
