that's the point of someone sponsoring/promoting an event - they pay money to have their name associated with it.. like when you go to a festival and it's "Mean Fiddler presents..." or whatever..

If the forum is giving up some dosh then it should damn well have its name in it. I know, LS, that it feels like the forum's jumping on a bandwagon but hey, I'd rather be associated with it than not - as bastions of Stafford town and the surrounding area we need to project our image, which certainly is not bigoted and narrow minded.
We need to be seen doing our part. If this is a nationwide thing and other people are doing events for LMHR we need people to know that this is Stafford Forums contribution to the most worthwhile cause. Especially if this thing is organised to counter the BNPs interest in Stafford (the first line of the first post in this thread!) and show those silly little shisters that Stafford and its people can do without them - represented by the forum, a not for profit collection of Staffordians (not politicians / bureaucrats) interested in keeping their area free and righteous baby x

As Andreas as said, it's not a deal-breaker, but I would have thought surely this is the point of sponsorship? Take, for instance, the Coca-Cola Football League - Coca-Cola don't play the football, and are in fact not involved with it in any way, shape, or form - but they support the league financially and in turn they become the "hosts" of the games smile
Please remember that Stafford Forum is not a profit making endeavour. Everything you see here is provided free of charge, we have no advertising of any kind to generate revenue, etc. The money The Forum has offered to LMHR has come from donations from Forum members, primarily rich upsetter through the magic of his Stafford Forum T-Shirts, and as such it would be nice to see a little generosity in return big_smile
If this becomes an official Stafford Forum event, I will most likely do a broadcast e-mail to every member letting them know the details. So that means not only will you get our financial backing, but direct-mail promotion to nearly 500 people!
Firstly, this isn't a festival, it is a charity (I use the term loosely, although I am fairly sure that it is legally a charity) / awareness raising event.
The name 'Stafford Forum' will be associated with the event - if you look on www.lovemusichateracism.com they have a poster/flyer generator, which asks for the event organiser (i.e. Stafford Forum - to be honest, it was always at the back of my mind to have it this way as I do not feel entirely comfortable with having my name there) and if we don't use that then I would dedicate even more of the poster to advertising Stafford Forum.
I will be linking to the forum via MySpace and Facebook, and mention it lots on the night and otherwise - i.e. this event would not have been possible without the generosity of... (Which is true, because I am as skint as anything - £50 is more than a week's income for me!)
I am not making any promises, but as there will be a stall with UAF/LMHR merch I would be more than willing for Stafford Forum T-Shirts to be sold at the event (I was already considering selling band stuff e.g. CDs too) - possibly with a slight mark up in price/small slice of the profit to go to the actual organisation (and possibly some of it will go to a Stafford Branch of Unite Against Fascism).

Entry fee on the night: £5 (i think)
Probably, although if all tickets are sold then about half that price would cover the costs (just about), plus I was thinking of an NUS discount - so I may well introduce a special Stafford Forum discount.
(Again, no promises - but I don't see why not!)

why ask for the input of others if you have already made you mind up?? lol..
I am sorry if I did not make it clear that I was asking which of the two options people preferred!
PS - Sorry also for such a long post!
