How much meat is one of these packs?dirtybobby said:steak & guinness stew again.. asda are doing little packs of irish stewing steak for £1 at the moment, so it's too good to pass up! one of them with a few veg, tin of tomatoes, and a can of guinness - lovely stuff, especially on cold days like this, and enough for 2 or 3 days
not loads, about 200g.. makes enough for 2 massive portions of stew though, or 3 average portions..tek-monkey said:How much meat is one of these packs?dirtybobby said:steak & guinness stew again.. asda are doing little packs of irish stewing steak for £1 at the moment, so it's too good to pass up! one of them with a few veg, tin of tomatoes, and a can of guinness - lovely stuff, especially on cold days like this, and enough for 2 or 3 days
EDIT: Tesco are doing sirloins from the butchers counter at £7.99/kg and pork leg joints for £2.99/kg at the min, nyom nyom
That sounds good but don't you get bored of the same thing over and over again?dirtybobby said:i just brown the meat in a pan, then chuck in chopped onion, carrots and celery, a big potato (diced), then bung in about half a tin of chopped tomatoes and a can of guinness.. stick a lid on, let the whole thing simmer for about 3 hours stirring it now and again, and that's it - lunch for most of the week covered, for a couple of quid
Sounds nice, I'm a greedy sod though. I usually allow 250g of meat per person for a main meal, and thats not a big portion to me! Luckily eating once a day helps me keep my svelt profiledirtybobby said:not loads, about 200g.. makes enough for 2 massive portions of stew though, or 3 average portions..
