M&S Development at Riverside now under review & in doubt

Confused

It would be nice if they'd said when the blockages will actually occur..
The Queensway lane closure was about 8 weeks from what I can remember. The footpaths and cycleways are likely to be closed for up to 18 months. The original date was from November, but it has been put back.

I had a right rant at them at the exhibition at the gatehouse last week. Not that it made much impression on them. Anyone travelling to ASDA for example from the Wolverhampton Road area is likely to have to walk two or three times the distance, by walking all the way into town and out again. One of the clowns even suggested an alternative route that is also blocked by the development! The alternative route on the opposite side of south walls is a footpath that is covered in weeds and parked cars.

All that land and they can't keep a 6 foot strip of it open down the edge. They are letting the Jersey based tax avoiders walk all over them! Also from what I can tell is there is no phasing any more. the old Tesco's car park is not being replaced before the shops are built on the riverside car park. Where are all the cars from there going to park whilst the development takes place?

i thought riverside and bridge street were always going to be built at the same time however kingsmead will not be developed until riverside /bridge street has been completed. still believe this to be the case
