the problem is that the seem to be about as popular as a not very popular thing.

How long did Muchachos last (the shrew)? 6 weeks.

and the one that is now the Inn Dragon (up for sale again due to there being 4000 better Chinese places)? 6 months.

sure it would be nice to have a Mexican place, but the fact is that it just isn't comercially viable to open one in Stafford.

I was lead to believe that the one at the Shrews was priced out of the property by high rates. As for commercially - the one in Stone was packed - bookings only - and when I visited the Shrews - I found a similar thing!

Oddly, I never saw a person in it! apart from the time that 3 of us went in wearing sombreros and were told to "get the feck out".

Speaking of restaurants, whats the name of that new Chinese that has opened near the shirehorse pub?

Keep seeing the banner on the roundabout in town (by Hi-Q) but keep forgetting the name of it.

Anyone been there? I think its a buffet style?

Yes it is the Golden Orient.

Took the family there on New Years day. Was quite nice, service a bit scatty. It is a buffet restaurant but I think choices differ in the afternoon and it's cheaper. £6.95 per adult and childs price (done on height of 1.4m) is £4.95. I think there is an infant price too. I would also recommend getting there sooner rather than later as we were the last of the day and choices were slim.

Drove past the Sun Inn today and its now painted bright red and the sign says Tequila Red Mexican restaurant coming soon.

excellent! i hope they make a good go of it.. i used to love the sun, back in the day.. even when it first turned into an irish bar it wasn't bad - apart from the confusing toilet signs, of course..

i reckon they should make the staff walk around serving nachos & dip from their with sombreros lol..

edit: i can't find a picture of anyone wearing one, but this sort of thing:

God dammit, google has failed me! There was a show called Shasta McNasty around 2000, and in one episode Vern Troyer was doing just that.

EDIT: Oh yeah, top news on the mexican!

Will it be any good, though? I do hope so! That reminds me of a joke...

(old jokes home revisited)

Why did the mexican woman want to divorce her husband?... (man I never tire of that joke)
