That was Barney McGrew, tackling the up-stairs chimney aspect of the fire.cookie_monster said:....and gone2seed didnt tell us!!!!
what happened at the shrew? and why is there still a person in the upstairs window if the place was on fire?
this is why if you have active coal/wood fires you should always make sure your chimney gets swept regularly.coobeastie said:Basically, the inside of the chimney caught fire, and the smoke filled the place.

i have it on good authority that our local farce (read my local farce) has a bouncy castle that they hire out to members of their sports and social club for parties....i dont know if you have to provide your own clowns though.gon2seed said:Funnily enough though my little biscuit munching chum, last time we got called to the fella who climbs trees and rants, his name escapes me, (which really is a sign of impending senility, because we were always getting called out to him) the bobby's had a giant blow up mattress thingy that looked exactly like a bouncy castle without the sides! We wanted to know why we didn't have one......
obviously not! perish the thoughtgon2seed said:What of course not! ... We would never climb to the top of the tower to test it, what do you take us for? OK I believe there was brigade somewhere, where the firefighters got out the giant reservoir dam, used for retaining chemical leaks etc, filled it full of water, and jumped off the firestation roof into it. But that would never happen in Stafford ........ or Burton
There has been a few, there are a number of people living in and around the property, and its difficult to tell whether they have mad ham fisted attempts to keep warm, or it's deliberate. It's not too clever inside, but that is because it's now derelict, has been vandalised, and they are knocking it down anyway!Silverfish said:Any idea what caused the fire at The Stafford Arms, and how bad the damage inside is?
