Story in the Newsletter today - he passed away on the 15th December, aged 53.

Thought i would inform those that don't buy the local paper, knowing there be a few people on here who went to Walton.

He was a good old boy from my rememberings.

He was a good teacher and a well-respected chap in the rugby world. He taught me for a few years and my dad knew him through both teaching and rugby.

A friend of mine has been one of his carers over the last few years and kept me updated every few months as to his condition. It's a terribly sad way to go for such a big, strong character.

R.I.P. Mr Davis

He was indeed a very good rugby player, and a good coach of the the game to boot.

Hear hear. Do pass on, if possible, condolences to his family - i hope it might be some comfort that he will be remembered with some affection by many.

Shocking!

I remember he scared the life out of me in my first year at Walton!

A few years later on he was my form tutor and realised beneath the hard exterior he was a nicer bloke than I first thought.

Cut and paste:-

Hi, I'm not sure how this works, if anyone sees this post but unfortunately Mr Davis passed away before Christmas this year. He'd suffered with Picks Disease for eight years. If anyone would like to know details of his funeral then please Facebook message me. His funeral is likely to be next week (Jan 2012). Regards. Ben Sandy

Thats sad news, in my time there was Wood, Davis, and Van (damme) Block. Many a cold foggy morning spent following them around Brocton on 'cross-country' stints wondering how the hell they could run so fast while carrying so much beef. Respects to the family

Oh yes - I remember many a cold day jumping in the old big red bus - Mr (Womble) Wood driving and dropping us off in the middle of the Chase.

RIP, former teacher of mine. Good bloke. Sounds a horrible illness to have had. Thoughts with his family.

Hello, sorry to bring this thread up.
Is this the same Mr Davis that worked at castlechurch primary school in the 90's?

His first name was robert i think.
