I'm now talking to you via a fibre connection, at the second attempt. The first, a few months ago, revealed an issue at a pole a few hundred yards away, but that was resolved in the interim and it was completed today. Between us, we've made a reasonable job of it and all is working nicely, and somewhat faster. It was interesting that this, even from the existing provider, resulted in a slightly lower monthly cost.

In order to do the interior work, it was necessary for me to excavate the corner of that room, which has been a 'repository of stuff' for many years. It needed doing anyway and I did discover two items that have been missing for at least five years. One was a bespoke charging cable, the absence of which has been a bit of an issue.

The other was a 30mm Aden cannon shell.

The absence of this mystified me, but there were no reports of there being any extreme shootings in the intervening years.

The grooves on the driving band and the dimple in the primer indicate relative safety.

It is now on the mantelpiece, with the spare one that I brought over, to cover its paperweight duties during the recent years.

The cat was concerned about the intrusion and required the installer to be checked and authorised. Also, his extremely neatly packed van was examined and approved.

You might remember a lady asking me to litter pick with her a while back because of the abuse she gets from antisocial neighbours who are responsible for much of the littering.

I've been cleaning up that area for her about once a month since and today, for the third time, I found human poo wrapped in tissue thrown into the bushes. I'm curious as to the series of events that leads to this. Is it someone who is regularly caught short at this spot so they carry emergency poo wraps with them? Are they thrown willy-nilly from the bathroom window of the house behind? Or, perhaps the worst option, is this an intentional form of poo terrorism aimed specifically at me by said neighbours...?

The last option might seem the most likely until I mention that I have previously found human poo wrapped in a hanky by a completely unrelated busstop so no it's not entirely out of the question that people are, literally, just animals.

It's a real "poo dunnit?".
I have found human poo multiple times around Stafford, unfortunately on a few occasions because Ollie rolled in it :barf:

The path between the Isabel Trail and Izaak Walton Street has always been known to me as Dogshit Alley, although I didn't bother to rename it after several instances of (very) full nappies being added to the obstacle course there.

Getting a bit worried about climate change and rising sea levels. Just spotted that during the school holidays Blists Hill have been running a Victorian Seaside Experience.

Has anyone been lucky/daft enough to get extortionate Oasis tickets?
Many I know tried, few succeeded. One was faced with dynamic pricing, where Ticketmaster themselves turned tout and started charging whatever they could get away with instead of face value, which should be illegal but they have a monopoly and can do as they please.

Edit: although I'm reading indications that Ticketmaster only use dynamic pricing if the requested by the artist, if so it means someone with oasis did so. If this is true they have no regard for their fans, this is just a massive money grab for a few weeks work.

A friend of mine had this when she managed to get through to buy four £148 each tickets and only realised they had been increased to over £300 each when it went through to the Ticketmaster check out.

Luckily she didn't progress the purchase and just gave up in the end.

They'll probably only last three gigs before they fall out again and cancel the rest of the tour anyway 😂😂

The promoter and the artist dictate the price. Live nation the owner of ticketmaster were the promoter in this instance.
