Thought about @Carole at 4am this morning when I got up for the loo and a glass of water . Looked out of the back bedroom window to see the weather whilst drinking the water and checking if the stuff on the clothes maid was dry yet. Lights suddenly come on in the house behind , who keep their curtains open, and the bloke came strolling through to his kitchen in his undies. (At least he had them on ) . Found myself feeling guilty as though I was a peeping tom

Jr has no lessons this afternoon, so we're heading off for a two to three hour family walk on the Chase in the sun. Happy days :)
Hope you all had a great walk @proactive . I love my walks over the chase. Not been for a while though .

I wish I was brave enough to go on my own over the chase in the daytime when hubbys working. Looking forwards to the lighter nights, it's too dark when he's finished work at the moment.

Just had a horrendous walk around the roads. And most of it quite literally on the road as there were so many people out , loads having group chats blocking pavements.

You don't back onto @Carole's house do you? I've heard that there are shocking things going on when they have a power cut :)

Had a great walk, thanks. Yeah, you want to be careful walking on your own on the Chase, you might bump into people like me...

Only another couple of weeks and there'll be light until about 6.30pm on a nice day.

Looking forward to that ( as long as they haven't closed off all the parking spots by then...)

My mate got attacked whilst running over the chase many years ago , by someone posing as a jogger. Luckily she was a really good runner and managed to get away safely .
Only time I've sort of been on my own over there has been whilst running the ' Milford 21' races twice . Bit scary when finding myself with no one else in sight for quite a way, as in a small line- up it soon got spread out over the 21 miles.

Oh to be that fit again!

Feeling sorry for myself.

Stubbed my toes in the middle of the night on my way to the loo in the dark. Didn't bother to look at them and hobbled back to bed.

Got up this morning to find blood everywhere, 2 bruised toes, and 1 toenail that now is only partially attached, plus a whole lot of pain.

Thank goodness it's a day off. :ohno:

A commode in the bedroom might be a good idea.

I keep a small torch on the bedside cabinet because power cuts are frequent down here .. (the Cornish haven't quite got used to this new fangled electricity yet.)
That way you don't get blinded and you avoid the agony of stubbed toes ..... (which I've done many times.) :hmm:

When we had a week off in May we decorated the bedroom and moved a rocking chair up there. It's in the corner I have to walk round to get to my side of the bed; I think I've had a broken little toe ever since.

I've lived in the same house for 26ish years and never put the lights on if I get up in the night as I didn't want to wake up properly, and I didn't put my glasses on either, no idea how I managed to ram my foot under the bed either as it's only about an inch off the ground!

My watch has a strange feature where its light comes on if I raise my arm up, that's usually enough to navigate by. Can't belive I did so much damage just stubbing my toes.

I replaced the bulbs in my stairs/hall etc. with ones that have built in sensors, so they turn on automatically when its dark enough and you walk by. I'm so used to them that at other peoples houses I get really confused now!

I bought a pair of JCB-branded safety shoes in a charity shop. The are, and by a long way, the heaviest footwear that I've ever had.

If you wore them all day, the most you could do is to sit on your arse in a digger cab.

I doubt I've ever walked more than a hundred yards in them, in case I couldn't get back.

Received a text from a friend in Leeds asking for a mutual friend's address so that she could send her an STD card.

Puzzled I googled, with some trepidation, STD card and found out that you can buy valentine's STD cards. At this point I'm thinking "how cute, sending your loved one an appointment card for the clap clinic for valentine's!!!"

But no, apparently STD card in the context of my friend from Leeds' message was a Save The Date card for her wedding next year. Who knew? :)
