I love bats, we used to have them swooping around the courtyard at the flats in Essington. I'd spend many an evening watching them. Sadly I've not seen any here. my SIL up on Silverdale had one in her living room recently. For any of you who reads the Stoke Sentinel she is the woman who had the bees lol.

I love watching them outside as well, but a bit of a fright when you are sitting watching telly with all the doors and windows shut, and suddenly something big and black starts flying around the lounge :D

I probably wouldn't mind really, I'd be in a flap (pardon the pun :P) though trying to get it out before it hurt itself or the dog or cats did something despicable to the poor thing. My fantasy pet would be a giant fruit bat :D I have bat earrings, a cuddly bat, a bat pin badge... you get the idea lol. Back in the day the only beanie baby I bought was the bat lol

A few days ago I dreamt that I caught a little bat in a towel & I was trying to convince the husband that we needed to keep it as a pet....the dream was really vivid & I actually looked for the towel when I came downstairs!

I have a ridiculous fear of bats, unsure where it came from, maybe the bat house at Chester zoo.
That's why son is glad he was 9000 miles away when we had the fun and games last night..... He's had a real phobia since that time a fruit bat got inside his hoody. Lesson learnt...don't eat a jam scone and the put your hand in your pockets before entering a fruit bat cave!
We get bats in the house quite regularly. Just open a window and they'll soon find their way out again, no need to panic.
I think the first bout of panic was more that the doors and windows had been closed all day, sitting watching telly and suddenly.... whoosh! If there had been a way in last night we would have probably thought "Oh no, somethings flown in" But this was a matter of "Where the hell did that suddenly appear from?" A big one as well, thought it was a blackbird at first when it zoomed around the corner of the kitchen into the lounge. Despite the patio doors and other 2 doors being open it couldn't seem to find it's way out. (Or maybe my screaming was getting it disorientated)

Best of it was, the other night I had real nightmares (due to hubby putting 2 horror films on that night) and when sons WhatsApp message came through at 3am , I woke in a sweat convinced there was an evil spirit attacking me in bed. Even woke hubby up to ask him if 'd been screaming, as I didn't know if it was real or not it was that vivid. Maybe it was actually the bat flying round my head!

Enjoying a drop of red.
They can sometimes hang upside down in a quiet and dark corner for a day or two without moving, then they get hungry and feel the urge to fly out for some grub.

I got a lecture today on how we were short of money this week and how he was sick of going to our amphibian event, (it's on Sunday), broke. He then spends more that £30 on coffee.......:lorks:

:lolsmash:She did it again, there was a really loud bang in the kitchen, after investigating it
appears she was washing her teeth and left the top of the Sterident tablets tube,
must have got some water in before she put the top back on, it quietly bubbled
away for an hour and then exploded.
And dam me if she didn't just put the cap back on and 30min later bang, again,:lolsmash:

Insomnia again - been to bed once cause I had started to felt tired – But when I got into bed I immediately woke up – played tetrus on my new blue game boy – I love that game it’s so relaxing but it didn’t help tonight I’m now downstairs with mug hot chocolate and clearing my e mails.

Maybe another hot choc or I may resort to sleeping tablets; I can’t understand why I feel tired downstairs and the minute I get into bed I wake up.

Trying to find the source of a repeating ringing noise I keep hearing...

It's been doing it all night - no rhythm to it, short rings, sometimes a few seconds apart, sometimes a few minutes

Can't figure out what on earth it is :mystery:
