If anyone happens to be near Stafford rugby club this morning I'm running in the 2 fast 2 flat 5k with my son (actually he's not running with me because I'm apparently a little bit slow and quite old!)
A friendly cheer at half way point might be very welcome as would jelly babies!!

Ha ha, those things are great.

Right up until they have a problem.

Which is often.

Yesterday my sisters American Cocker Spaniel (aka littleshit) ran off from the farm where her and knobheadwankstaindickheadknowitall live.As she was busy sorting out the chickens, idiot here (aka me) said I'd go after him and fetch him back.
2 bloody miles I ran after that dog for! Only to have him turn round and race back home again! So, today I have limited use of my legs, I have to walk to the bank, if I start off now, I may reach it just before closing time.
And why, after all that running am I not miraculously a size 12?!

I think I may have another job.. well sort of job, it's just casual employment. (I need to read up on what casual employment really means) it's commission only sales, but it's a job!

The battery on TB1 has been playing up for a while so I decided to replace it, the car was starting but not turning over with any enthusiasm and charging was not helping much. So today I jumped in TB1 with the intention of visiting Halfords and allowing them to sort it out, car though had other ideas and refused to start.

Looked everywhere for my jump leads but, after half an hour, they were nowhere to be seen so, as they are useful to have, I decided I would buy another set and start the car using said cables and a boost from TB2.

One hour and a trip to halfords later jump leads were purchased and I had started TB1.

I then left the car running for half an hour to charge battery. I didn't want to risk the car not starting If I needed to turn it off so I tried a stop-start to check the battery. It still wouldn't start even with a warm engine.

So, switch to plan B, just buy a battery and fit myself. For reasons best known to Ford the battery has been mounted part under the scuttle panel, housing the wipers, and cannot be disconnected and easily lifted out. Looks like I will have to disassemble the battery compartment and god knows what else to remove it.

In the meantime I have had a bit of good luck, whilst looking for sockets, to remove battery clamp and terminals, I have discovered my old jump leads.

The Getz spare lives in the boot floor and, even whilst housing the jack and tools, there is space for jump leads and a few other bits.

Got knocked off the motorbike on the way home this evening by a lady who pulled out on me from Walton Lane as I rode along Sawpit Lane. She had seen me but was under the impression that 'motorbikes always give way to cars, don't they?'

Anyway, I briefly contemplated the possibility of beating her with my helmet until she stopped moving, but decided that as there was no physical damage to me, I'd leave it to my broker to sort it all out. Need a new helmet, leathers, fuel tank, headlight/handlebar assembly, front wheel and mudguard and custom paint respray, so it's going to cost her quite a bit.

Fortunately a neighbour was first on the scene and had the presence of mind to take loads of pics of the scene. So big thanks to him.
