Not sure whether I'm going mad or not....my new mobile suddenly started playing music. Switched it completely off to stop it , and it continued for quite a time afterwards No calls or messages coming in ......:strange:

I was using my mobile as a satnav and it appears that it was listening. It opened a radio app I have and sought a radio station and started playing it at full volume.

I've learnt not to press the 'Help' icon on my Satnav , after thinking it would give guidance on the Satnav functions....it started putting me through to the emergency services. :o
Switched the Satnav completely off and drove home the rest of the way hoping not to see blue lights whizzing past

FINALLY!
Got the person Manning the phones to the abandoned office ( seems several companies in the one building) to give me the mobile number for the elusive ex-landlady as she is "probably out on business"
Finally got to speak to her ...excuse for non reimbursement of monies owed since last June was she has been looking after her disabled mentally impaired son, lost her niece and nephew blah blah blah and had been too ill to do anything.
Sounded like a feeble doddery old lady voice, until I told her despite losing my parents lately I was still paying my bills on time , and managing to operate a computer. "Nice photo of the new Malvern council chairman BTW........"

Not holding out much hope, but her reply was " Text me the bank details and I will sort it out today"

May have missed something, but if this is deposit money can't you just go to the government scheme it was banked with to get it back directly? Or lodge a complaint?

Had to call the pest department at the council today; I saw a rat in the garage last night. Not at all freaked out, no siree.

She kept stringing it out with promises of refunds until the time limit for disputes on that deposit scheme had lapsed. The others got theirs back eventually, and son should have got his at the same time. The others all received a letter along with a cheque. Sons letter was found enclosed in someone elses envelope , minus a cheque to go with it. She was supposed to be re-issuing the cheque, then transferring to his bank account time and time again , but as she was "on business in the netherlands and unable to process any payments " she would sort it on her return ...since then she hasn't been answering his calls on the number he was given. Suppose she only answered my call today as she didn't recognise my number. Probably find I've been added to her 'blocked' list now.

Small claims court mentioned not being able to pursue rental deposits when I looked on the website a few months back :hmm:

Enjoying a drop of red.

Report her to the police for fraud and theft. That should put the wind up her and get your money back sharpish. Threaten to do it first, give her a week and if still no money go through with it.

She won't want the hassle.

:o

I was freaked out when I once saw a rat at the top end of the garden , munching away on an apple core hubby had slung out for the birds. Haven't seen it since it disappeared under the fence. The mouse in the house (which hitched a ride inside via hubbys gym bag ) was caught in a humane trap and carried rather quickly to the top of the garden to be released, accompanied by lots of screams from me as he kept sticking his nose out of the airholes

Will go along that route if not in his bank account next week.

I assume that your cats have had no pocket money this week?
She very occasionally catches mice, but brings them in alive to run round the library (OHs posh name for what should be the dining room). I thought we had mice in the garage (a load of veg seeds had been eaten) and was okay with that, but rats. Ah well, it'll mean the OH hasn't got an excuse not to help tidy it up now.

Got up early today intending to get so much done. Now realise that I've more or less done sod all except make phone calls , drink tea, and make a fuss of the neighbours cat when he came to show me his war wounds from his latest attack from his arch enemy.
