Natwest wrecked anyone else's weekend ?

dayloon

A few posts under my belt
On Thursday my house sale completed and my solicitor transferred over £16,000 into my Natwest account. It was there all day thursday and friday. And then at 7pm last night it vanished. Obviously fuming i called telephone banking who initially stated the obvious by saying "it's not there" and then blamed the technical problems and said the money would be back in my account by 8am today. It's now 11am and it's still missing. I'm not happy at all.

I'm with natwest, and havent had any problems, I find the Stafford branch to be nothing but professional and friendly, I'm sure they will help! Out of interest what nationality are Natwest? Are they a British company?

I had several customers struggling to access their funds over Friday as a result of the Natwest cock up. From what I could tell they all went into the branch and resolve it by some means. I guess these things happen from time to time but they do seem to be putting some effort into rectifying things.

Heard on today's news of a chap that spent the week-end in custody as he was not able to access his Nat West account to lodge his bail. Now that's what I call a wrecked week-end.

Should have called a friend? I wonder if we see the facts we will get the whole truth.

The Natwest in Stone was shut yesterday, Eccleshall was open though. Very odd!

When you read this you may not conclusde it was a wrecked weekend. Posting surety is only for flight risks.

Look at the charges should he even had bail??

Michael Brock, 25, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday charged with attempted rape, assault by penetration and indecent assault.

He was granted bail on condition a surety, believed to be £25,000, was paid before his release

My partners wages were paid in 5 days late - not a major disaster for us thank goodness.
Just a word of warning though - even when you think it might be sorted - it isn't necessarily!
My daughter has a Natwest account and she had £95 go walkabout which made an appearance again 2 days ago - she assumed the problems were sorted and paid £750 into her account - that has now also disappeared! I'm sure she will get it back but just wanted to warn anyone thinking that once it's sorted it's sorted - It isnt!!

Saw on the news they are blaming it on an inexperienced junior technician in India. Nice to know all your transaction details are being handled by a low end techie, who has the ability to destroy your banking yet is probably paid less than our NMW. Gotta pay for the bonuses somehow!

Over the yearsd RBS has not invested as much as it should have done in backend IT. The stock excahnge liked them as they were very thrifty but recent days have shown that they have not invested.

As for a lowly technician what a load of rubbish. Any upgrade would have been tested etc and planned.Unless that the system is that old it was done on a prayer!
