yeah, if you search for an address in sheffield though you get a little orange bod in the navigation box at the top.

click and drag the bod to the bit of the road you want to look at....and let the wonderment commence!

I believe they had a lot of issues with certain places in America and had to photoshop people out.
i.e. people exiting porn shops, strip clubs etc

That's wicked! Cheers cookie...just doing a tour of my previous abodes in the big smoke!
They must have been shooting London between April and June last year. I know this because where I am currently sitting is pictured as a lump of scaffolding, and my flat doesn't have window boxes.

The scope of this is stunning. I hope they take it out of just streets and do rural areas, mountains, hell everywhere.

FPMSL, the bloke being sick is on Curtain Road in Shoreditch, Hackney, London.

You can still see him in some shots, just not the one that looks straight on at him.

I know this is a Google Maps comes to UK thread but this seemed the place to stick this mildly related article (fairly sure this only rolled out in the US so far)

i didn't understand a word of what you just quoted, so apologies if this is wrong, but wouldn't this be better in tek-monkey's photosynth thread?

i'm guessing he didn't getting any replies in there because no-one understood what the hell it was then, either lol..

edit: actually no, i get what you're saying, and it would make sense to be here.. basically, microsoft are going to get users to upload photos of places, and then link them to the corresponding geographical location on their own mapping technology? dunno why they have to complicate it with this "photosynth" business lol..
