Just bought one haven't used it yet (as I'm still at work) but I bought my wife an 8g Ipod Nano 2nd generation in July for the RRP, they are £99 now!!!! Get one if you want one before they all go! New nano video is tiny and looks as sexy as feck. The older other nanos have come down a fair bit in price as well 4g = £79 and the 2g = £59 (I think)

But don't you have to use iTunes? :(
only to manage the songs.. you don't have to buy stuff from itunes store - you can rip your own CDs or import music from more illicit sources..

and before you all get your :geek: hats on, yes there are other third party options to itunes, but it really isn't worth the hassle.. and they all require you to install itunes anyway, in order to install the necessary ipod drivers..

i was reluctant about installing itunes on my pc as well, tek-monkey, but it's not that bad.. don't get me wrong - i wouldn't dream of using it as my regular media player/browser - but it serves its purpose and doesn't get in the way too much..

Fair enough, just remember the hassles I got with it when I worked at a PC shop. Vowed then never to buy an apple, I still use my Creative Zen Touch for long journeys or my little Sumvision thing for walking to work.

Itunes has given me grief last nite.........ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Already had it installed but newer version required for my Ipod. So updated to the new 7 version which was fine. Synched mey new Ipod with the music already on there (mostly curly sue's therefore the likes of Lily Allen was removed before I synched) which all work really fine and dandy. Played some music which was great. Stuck it in the docking station in the kitchen - full pelt prodigy (sorry neighbours but your kid cries non feckin' stop) when I was making dinner.......really impressed I was with the new purchase. Then I had a rumage around for some old cds found what could be interpreted as an EP of Sawdoctors from 1995. Stuck it on Itunes - no probs then attempted to sync with the new Ipod - IT FECKIN' reset the damn thing wiped all the music. I thought ahh! Shall just re sync but it wouldn't. Ended up uninstalling itunes then reinstalling it but it still would not sync. Then all of a sudden a message pops up saying that I need to reset my ipod and install new drivers......did this, resynched automatically and all was fine.........jesus what a pallava. The original update earlier in the day did not install the appropiate drivers for the new nano.

Shit I'm ranting again

Does anyone know how to remove/delete music on an ipod? Had a look at it but does not appear obvious. Tried doing it through itunes but was unable to actually delete and music from the actual ipod
